Latest addition to the family - Oreo

We recently adopted a new cat. The cat was previously owned by a family that is living in the neighboring housing area. Most of the time, the son is the one that taking care of the cat. But since he has started furthering his study in university, he has limited time to take care of the cat.

Before we adopted the cat, most of the time, the cat spent most of its time inside the cage. There was also an occasion where it stay inside the cage for more than 4 days because there was no one to take care and play with the cat.

I was at work when I saw a WhatsApp message from a group called "Subang Perdana Community". It is a group for three neighboring housing area which is Subang U3, Subang U4 and Subang U5.

Inside the message was a picture of the cat, and caption stating "Cat for adoption". From the picture, I can see it is a black cat with white whisker and a small white patch on its chest. I forwarded the whatsapp message to my wife, and ask her to contact the owner.

My wife set an appointment and then we went to the previous owner house to take a look at the cat. When we were there, the cat is still inside the cage. I can see the cat was gloomy and does not respond much even after being called.

Long story short, we adopted the cat. The previous owner named the cat as Samad since it is a male cat. But my family does not like the name. After a family discussion, my daughters wanted to change the name from Samad to Oreo because of the cat color combination.

Both of my daughters enjoy bringing Oreo to the park. They would bring Oreo for a walk almost every weekend. But Oreo need to be put onto a cat harness because Oreo would actively run here and there at the park.
