Today's Wednesday is truly spring! Warm and fine days have already arrived, which helps my travels and helps me discover more and more new places and architectural and artistic sights.
I have been to Vicenza more than once. She visited every corner of the historic city center. And recently I came across one building, located a little on the outskirts of Vicenza. Today I drove purposefully to Vicenza to visit Villa Rotonda.

Я вже не один раз їздила до Віченца. Обійшла кожен куточок історичного центру міста. А недавно натрапила на одну будівлю, розташовану трохи на окраїні Віченци. Сьогодні я їхала ціленапрямлено до Віченци щоб відвідати віллу Ротонда.

This villa is located on a hill. This location makes it possible to see the surrounding area in all 360 degrees. The villa was designed by the famous and very famous architect Andrea Palladio in 1556. Construction lasted about a year. In 1571, Paolo Almerico settled in the villa. Later, the villa was bought by Odorico Capra. Since 1911, the villa has belonged to the wealthy Valmarana family, which has opened its villa to the public since 1986
The villa is created in the form of a cross. It has four identical portals with porches and stairs. Each portal will be supported by six columns. In the middle is a round room with a conical vault. There are rooms around. There is a hypothesis that Andrea Palladio took his idea from Leonardo Da Vinci's painting "Vitruvian Man". And indeed, when we look at the diagram of the building, we can see that Andrea Palladio designed the Villa Rotonda according to clear geometric calculations. The villa has a very successful construction. It resembles the current delicacy, where there is a sweet cream between two delicious waffles or cookies. Because it would be quite banal to build a villa on three floors. Palladio built it with one main floor "piano noble" and two mezzanines below and above. It was a great architectural solution!

І справді, коли ми поглянемо на схему будівлі то можемо бачити, що Андреа Палладіо спроектував Віллу Ротонда згідно чітких геометричних розрахунків. Вілла має дуже вдалу конструкцію. Вона нагадує теперішній смаколик , де між двома смачними вафлями чи печивом знаходиться солодкий крем. Тому що було би досить банально збудувати віллу на три поверхи. Палладіо побудував її з одного основного поверху " piano noble " і двох напівповерхів знизу і зверху. Це було чудове архітектурне рішення!

This villa is designed for a sweet, relaxing holiday, "dolce vita", as the Italians say, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The nobility gathered here to listen to music, read their poetic works, and converse with a glass of wine on various philosophical topics. From every porch you could see the city, wonderful views of nature and enjoy the singing of birds that lived in the surrounding gardens.

Ця вілла створена для солодкого спокійного відпочинку, "dolce vita", як кажуть італійці, в далині від міської суєти. Тут збиралася знать, яка слухала музику, читала свої поетичні твори, спілкувалася з келихом вина на різні філософські теми. З кожного ґанку можна було бачити місто, чудові краєвиди природи і насолоджуватися співом птахів, що жили в навколишніх садах.

Villa Rotonda became the crown of Andrea Palladio's work. To this day, both tourists and students studying architecture are interested in this villa. To my great joy, I heard the Polish language on the lawn in front of the entrance to the villa. This is a language I love very much. I came closer and said hello. It was a group of university architecture students from Katowice. They sat on the green grass and listened attentively to their young teacher. I also listened to his lecture about the villa. He talked very interestingly, casually and cheerfully. It was communication between students and the teacher. Later, I heard how the Italians praised the Poles for coming to study the experience of Andrea Palladio.

Вілла Ротонда стала вінцем творчості Андреа Палладіо. До нинішнього дня цією віллою цікавляться як туристи так і студенти, що вивчають архітектуру. На мою велику радість я почула на газоні перед входом до вілли польську мову. Це мова, яку я дуже люблю. Я підійшла поближче і привіталася. Це була група студентів архітекторів університету з Катовіце. Вони сиділи на зеленій траві та уважно слухали свого молодого викладача. Я також слухала його лекцію про віллу. Він розповідав дуже цікаво, невимушено та весело. Це було спілкування студентів з викладачем. Пізніше я чула як італійці хвалили поляків, що приїхали вивчати досвід Андреа Палладіо.

Inside, the villa is decorated with frescoes, stucco and stonework. Each wall or ceiling captures your gaze for a long time. After all, I want to see every element of such beauty. The villa is beautiful from the outside and mesmerizes with its uniqueness inside. You find yourself in a colorful treasure box!

Всередині вілла прикрашена фресками, ліпниною та оздоблена каменем. Кожна стіна чи стеля приковує ваш погляд надовго. Адже хочеться розгледіти кожен елемент такої краси. Вілла прекрасна зовні і заворожує своєю неповторністю всередині. Ви опиняєтесь ніби в кольровій шкатулці зі скарбами!

Villa Rotonda is an excellent example of the merging of the building with the surrounding landscape. I sat on a bench on one of the porches and felt calm and quiet. I didn't want to go anywhere from there. I felt this "dolce vita"! I am sure that many visitors to the villa got exactly such feelings. This is probably what Andrea Palladio was aiming for!

Вілла Ротонда стала чудовим прикладом злиття будівлі з навколишнім ландшафтом. Я сиділа на лавці на одному із ганків і відчувала спокій і тишу. Я не хотіла звідти нікуди йти. Я відчувала цю "dolce vita"! Я впевнена, що багато відвідувачів вілли отримали саме такі відчуття. Цього, напевно, і добивався Андреа Палладіо!
