Family Trip to Cata Bay

Greetings, dear Hivers and lovers of Weekend Experiences! It is a pleasure for me to share the experience of my last family outing to the beautiful bay of Cata, in the state of Aragua, northern Venezuela.

A few weekends ago, I visited the coast of my home state with my family. It was a very special experience because not only had I not been to the beach for more than a year, but I was also in the company of family members I had not seen for a long time.

This paradisiacal spot is part of the Henri Pittier National Park, specifically in the town of Ocumare de la Costa, surrounded by tropical rainforest, with a great diversity of flora and fauna.

The bay is very beautiful, and has a large stretch of sand, divided by a breakwater. Here you can rent awnings with tables and chairs to enjoy the quiet atmosphere on the beach.

In the bay there are two buildings that are emblematic for their imposing height. This structure is privately owned and in some cases the rooms are for rent.

It is a pleasure to see people enjoying the sea and having a nice time in the waves, taking a refreshing swim, especially in this hot season. One of the things I appreciated most about this trip was being able to share with my loved ones in a unique and natural environment.

I like to walk along the boardwalk and along the shore of the beach, feeling the sea breeze and appreciating the different species of coastal birds. I also like to watch the local fishermen going out and returning in their boats.

If we follow the path all along the shore of the beach we can reach the mouth of the river Cata, where we can see how the flow of the small river meets the imposing sea. I took the opportunity to pick up some seashells on the way.

Before taking the road back home we stopped at the viewpoint to appreciate the beauty of the bay from a privileged angle. I must say that I am very proud of this natural jewel of my home state.

This family outing was extraordinary from start to finish. I enjoyed being with my loved ones, in contact with nature, taking advantage of the views and the atmosphere that this incomparable bay offered me. Thank you for joining me on this tour.
