Memories of my Visit to the Pantheon of Agrippa

Greetings, friends of the Throwback Thursday community! I’m happy to join you in this space dedicated to bring to light memories of unforgettable moments in our lives. On this second occasion I want to share with you a beautiful memory, it is about my visit to the Pantheon of Agrippa, as part of my trip to Rome, a decade ago.

I remember that day I woke up with great excitement, very early in the morning to make the pending tours according to my itinerary. After a pleasant visit to Piazza Navona and experiencing the good vibes of the city, I headed to the central area to find this imposing pantheon that now serves as a temple located right in front of the famous Piazza della Rotonda. In this square people gather not only to take pictures, but I also noticed that they use its steps to rest and even eat a snack.

The Pantheon is a construction of ancient Roman style with Greek touches, the building is round and, in its heyday, had the largest dome in the world. Currently the structure is under constant renovations in order to keep it in good condition and thus mitigate the passage of time, in fact, today it is considered the construction of ancient Rome that is in better condition.

Upon entering I noticed that the interior consists of a perfect sphere, which seemed to me a spectacular design. The Pantheon, which has the distinction of World Heritage Site, is currently used as a Catholic temple, specifically it is known as the Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres.

As I observed during my visit, the Pantheon is the burial place of several important Italian personalities, among them the Renaissance painter and architect Rafael Sanzio and the Father of the Nation Vittorio Emanuele II.

On the outskirts of the enclosure, you can take horse-drawn carriage rides through some of the blocks around the complex.

This experience was very beautiful and important for me, as it allowed me to learn a little more about the history and culture of ancient Rome and modern-day Rome. Thanks so much for joining me today, guys. See you next time with more unforgettable memories.

The Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres is a must-see for anyone interested in architecture and religious history.
That's right my friend, lots of history and cultural tracts I could learn from this visit.
Thanks for passing by.
Rome is a city that is full of a lot of history and this TBT is a sample of it. This place, despite being so crowded, keeps an impressive sobriety and I am glad that they are always trying to maintain it and that the passing of the years does not affect them. What a nice memory and the best thing was to enjoy your experience visiting this place.
It makes me so happy that you relive the emotions you experienced in Rome through #TBT Thursdays, and this is the perfect community for it. This trip influenced you a lot, it shows through your written words and there is no doubt that there are places with a lot of mystical strength, like this one, that brings you back to reflection. I loved your post, thank you very much for sharing it with us Rosana!...
That's right Jesus, these experiences broadened my vision of the world and of life. Reliving those moments gives me great satisfaction.
Thank you for welcoming me into this beautiful community.
You Absolutely Rockkk!!! 👍😎🔥📸❤️
Your trip to Italy was splendid, Rome has a charm that takes your breath away because of how mind blowing it is. The Pantheon is very well kept for these photos considering what you comment and inside you can see and feel (even though they are photos) its spiritual mysticism, it is simply amazing that place. These photos certainly have a value that surpasses the word itself, the photos are great and I really enjoyed all your story in line with each image 🙏❤️... A hug Rosana 🙌😀💛... You Absolutely Rockkk!!! 👍😎🔥📸❤️
