Visitando el Castillo de Pampatar// Visiting the Castle of Pampatar

Una vez que ya conocemos un poco más de lo que estamos visitando, ahora si podemos explorar un poco este castillo, al entrar me recibieron unas personas muy amables que cuidan el espacio, les pregunte si podía entrar y recorrer el castillo y me dieron el permiso.

Once we already know a little more about what we are visiting, now if we can explore this castle a bit, when I entered I was greeted by some very kind people who take care of the space, I asked them if I could enter and tour the castle and they gave me permission.

Lo primero que me llamó la atención al entrar al castillo fue una especie de pasillo que tenía a los lados, así que me dirigí a ese lugar par entrar y ver que había.

Inmediatamente cuando entre, pude ver una pintura de Cristóbal Colón, quien fue el que a través de sus viajes descubrió la isla de margarita, denominando la así por sus riquezas.

The first thing that caught my attention when entering the castle was a kind of corridor that was on the sides, so I went to that place to enter and see what was there.

Immediately when I entered, I could see a painting of Christopher Columbus, who was the one who discovered the island of Margarita through his travels, naming it that way because of its riches.

Dentro de este espacio también se encontraban algunos de los símbolos que se utilizaban en épocas anteriores como insignia de las tropas que defendían desde el castillo y afuera de el.

Después de lo que les acabo de enseñar, subí a la parte de arriba del castillo, donde se pueden ver cuatro Baluartes en las esquinas, para los que no saben que es un baluarte, es una construcción o recinto fortificado de forma pentagonal, estás sobresalen en la unión entre dos partes de muralla, generalmente en las esquinas como punto fuerte de la defensa contra el asalto de tropas enemigas.

After what I just showed you, I went up to the top of the castle, where you can see four Bastions in the corners, for those who don't know what a bastion is, it is a pentagonal-shaped construction or fortified enclosure, you stand out At the junction between two parts of the wall, generally at the corners as a strong point of defense against the assault of enemy troops.

Caminé un poco y me acerque a los baluartes que para mí es algo llamativo del castillo sin duda alguna se veía que estaba realizado con un material muy resistente.

I walked a bit and approached the bastions, which for me is something striking about the castle, without a doubt, you could see that it was made of a very resistant material.

Ya teniéndolo en frente, decidí entrar para ver cómo se sentia, hablé un poco dentro y hasta cante un poco jaajajaj, el eco dentro de la estructura es increíble. Además de tener mucho eco, mire hacia arriba, la mayoría de las paredes estaban marcadas, más que todo con nombre de algunas personas, imagino que como este castillo actualmente es un lugar turístico, cuando entran al baluarte, quieren dejar su nombre como significado de que han pasado por ese lugar.

Already having it in front of me, I decided to go in to see how it felt, I talked a little inside and I even sang a little hahahaha, the echo inside the structure is incredible. In addition to having a lot of echo, I looked up, most of the walls were marked, mostly with the names of some people, I imagine that since this castle is currently a tourist place, when they enter the bastion, they want to leave their name as the meaning of who have passed through that place.

Además de esto, también tienen una especie de abertura en forma de rectángulo por varias partes, con el cual se puede apreciar diferentes ángulos, imagino que era para poder contratacar, en el caso de un ataque enemigo.

Luego, pude observar en la parte de abajo del castillo y dirigidos hacia el mar, los cañones que utilizaban en aquella época para defenderse de los ataques, uno al lado del otro, la vista es increíble, el mar estaba con un color muy intenso.

Resulta que caminando por todos los espacios de la parte de arriba del castillo, casi me caigo porque mi pie pego con algo que estaba en el suelo, cuando miro hacia abajo me dio mucha curiosidad porque a mí parecer era una especie de mango de algún arma, la parte donde se sostiene, y me preguntaba que hacía eso allí.

It turns out that walking through all the spaces at the top of the castle, I almost fell because my foot hit something that was on the ground, when I looked down I was very curious because it seemed to me that it was some kind of handle from a weapon , the part where it is held up, and I was wondering what that was doing there.

Hay un dato curioso que se me había olvidado comentarles a causa de un error del arquitecto de este castillo, el foso que crearon que se debía llenar de agua debería resguardarlo aún más de asaltos a pie, nunca cumplió su propósito, pues fue construido muy por encima del nivel del mar y nunca pudo ser llenado.

There is a curious fact that I forgot to tell you about due to a mistake by the architect of this castle, the moat that they created that should be filled with water should protect it even more from assaults on foot, it never fulfilled its purpose, since it was built very above sea level and could never be filled.

Sin duda alguna visitar el Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo, es una experiencia muy buena, los espacio son increíbles y uno se siente como si estuviera en aquella época colonial. Además algo extra las hermosas vistas que podía ver desde la parte de arriba del castillo, hacia la playa de pampatar.
