Carnival in Colonia Tovar, Venezuela
Today I want to share with you some photos I took during Carnival, where you can appreciate the culture and traditions of my small town, La Colonia Tovar.
The jokilis, harlequins dressed in red, were brought directly from Endingen, Germany 49 years ago. They wear wooden masks made here in the village.
Every year, during Carnival, the jokilis dance happily through the streets of Colonia Tovar, until they reach the jokili square, where they meet and interact with tourists.
Thanks for viewing my post, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed taking these photos.
