Descubriendo Un Pueblo llamado Jalca Grande. (Esp / Ing)

Que tal. Si te gustan los viajes vengo a contarte sobre uno que realice hace ya un tiempo y no había compartido con nadie. Tuve la oportunidad de realizar un hermoso viaje hacia Jalca Grande, un cautivador pueblo ubicado en la región del Amazonas Peruano. Este lugar conocido por sus impresionantes paisajes y agradable clima, en realidad fue un viaje que disfrute muchísimo.

Uno de los momentos que más recuerdo de ese viaje fue cuando vi la famosa Torre de Jalca Grande, Una estructura emblemática del Pueblo, Sin embargo, con el tiempo me dio un poco de tristeza porque me enteré de que posteriormente que este icono de Jalca se derrumbó debido a un Sismo.

El Viaje a Jalca Grande.

Partimos desde Lima capital de Perú Hacia la población de Chachapoyas, capital de la provincia del mismo nombre, desde allí comenzó nuestro recorrido a través de hermosos paisajes hacia Jalca Grande, Luego de rodar unas cuantas horas al costado de un río y por entre montañas que se veían inmensas dejamos la carretera principal para tomar caminos de tierra; Comenzamos a subir cada vez más por un serpenteante camino y de ratos nos visitaba el sol y a veces la lluvia, pero durante todo el viaje el clima estuvo muy agradable.

El viaje fue una mezcla de hermosos valles, montañas y paisajes que dé a ratos te invadía una sensación de pequeñez ante esas vistas impresionantes, el recorrido lo realizamos poco a poco para poder disfrutar de la vida rural de la zona y su aire puro.

Gente Agradable.

Una de las cosas que más llamó mi atención fue la calidez con la que fuimos recibidos, Los habitantes de Jaca Grande son personas muy amables y hospitalarias, nunca falto una sonrisa o saludos, lleno de cariño, su comunidad se dedica principalmente de la agricultura y conservan sus tradiciones, llevan una vida muy calmada y el tiempo parece pasar de forma lenta.

Jalca Grande y Su Torre.

Una de las cosas que más quería conocer era de su famosa Torre, pues ya había escuchado hablar de ella. Una estructura icono del pueblo que se elevaba por encima de las casas del lugar.
La Torre de origen colonial había sido construida con piedras y ladrillos que permanecía erguida como punto de referencia para viajeros y un símbolo que colocaba en el mapa al pueblo dándole identidad local.

Sin embargo, como les comenté al principio con el tiempo me dio un poco de tristeza porque me enteré de que ese símbolo del pueblo, ese pedazo de historia y cultura, había desaparecido en un abrir y cerrar de ojos luego de haberse mantenido de pie durante muchos años. Un Sismo derrumbó la torre, un evento que me hizo reflexionar un poco sobre lo frágil que somos y la importancia de la fotografía para preservar momentos que a veces desaparecen sin darnos cuenta, Pues revisando mis archivos digitales encontré estas fotografías que no había compartido y eso me animo a escribirles este Post y mostrar las fotografías de ese hermoso viaje.

Al escribir este artículo recordé que también tengo fotografías de otro sitio natural que visite hace muchos años y que hoy no existe por causa de un terremoto, un sitio llamado la catedral, pero ese será tema para otro Post.

Discovering a Town Called Jalca Grande

Hey there! If you love traveling, I want to tell you about a trip I took a while ago that I haven’t shared with anyone. I had the opportunity to take a beautiful journey to Jalca Grande, a captivating village located in the Peruvian Amazon region. This place, known for its stunning landscapes and pleasant climate, was a trip I truly enjoyed.

One of the moments I remember most from that trip was seeing the famous Jalca Grande Tower, an iconic structure of the town. However, it made me a bit sad over time when I learned that this symbol of Jalca later collapsed due to an earthquake.

The Journey to Jalca Grande

We departed from Lima, the capital of Peru, heading towards the town of Chachapoyas, which is the capital of the province of the same name. From there, our journey began through beautiful landscapes towards Jalca Grande. After driving for a few hours alongside a river and through immense mountains, we left the main road to take dirt paths. We started climbing higher and higher along a winding road, sometimes graced by sunshine and occasionally visited by rain, but overall, the weather was very pleasant throughout the trip.

The journey was a blend of beautiful valleys, mountains, and landscapes that occasionally filled you with a sense of smallness in front of those stunning views. We took our time to enjoy the rural life of the area and its fresh air.

Friendly People

One of the things that caught my attention the most was the warmth with which we were welcomed. The residents of Jalca Grande are very kind and hospitable people; there was never a shortage of smiles or greetings filled with affection. Their community mainly engages in agriculture, and they preserve their traditions, leading a very calm life where time seems to pass slowly.

Jalca Grande and Its Tower

One of the things I was most eager to see was its famous tower, as I had already heard about it. This iconic structure of the town rose above the houses in the area. The colonial tower was built with stones and bricks and stood tall as a reference point for travelers, a symbol that placed the town on the map, giving it a local identity.

However, as I mentioned earlier, it saddened me to learn that this symbol of the town, this piece of history and culture, had vanished in the blink of an eye after standing for many years. An earthquake brought down the tower, an event that made me reflect on how fragile we are and the importance of photography in preserving moments that sometimes disappear without us realizing it. While reviewing my digital files, I found these photographs that I hadn’t shared, which encouraged me to write this post and show the pictures from that beautiful trip.

As I wrote this article, I remembered that I also have photographs of another natural site I visited many years ago that no longer exists due to an earthquake—a place called La Catedral, but that will be a topic for another post.
