Baile de Cultura y Pasión (Esp / Ing)

Hoy les comparto unas fotografías que tengo sobre un baile que practique hace ya muchos años. ¡¡Pero!! El de las fotos no soy yo jeje. Ya no puedo hacer esos trucos.

Les hablo del breakdance, un estilo de baile que inicio por allá en la década de los 70, en donde se combina el arte, la cultura urbana y un sinfín de movimientos.

Esta manera de expresarse con el tiempo ha crecido, evolucionado y se ha regado por todo el planeta, llegando a ser un baile que transcendió fronteras. Este baile nació en el ambiente del Hip – hop, es todo un movimiento cultural que vio como cuna los barrios Afroamericanos y Latinos en Nueva York, en un ecosistema en donde se mezclaban el baile, el arte y la música.

El breakdance tomo forma y se desarrolló como una competencia y a su vez una celebración, los b-boys y b-girls como se les dice a quienes practican este baile, demostraban sus habilidades en Batallas, algunas veces individualmente o en grupos y se realizan en cualquier parte o espacio donde la ciudad mostrara la oportunidad.

Recuerdo que cuando me gustaba bailar de esta manera cursaba el primer año de bachillerato incluso recuerdo haber visto una película con el nombre de breakdance en cine. Algunos de sus movimientos son bastante exigentes físicamente, pero no solo son movimientos técnicos también es una forma de expresión personal y artística, todos los participantes agregan su estilo propio.

A través de este baile muchos jóvenes encuentran una forma drenar energías, relacionarse con otros y construir una identidad.

El breakdance cada ve gana más espacios, incluso en el año 2020 fue incluido como disciplina en los juegos olímpicos, aunque su evaluación dejo mucha tela que cortar.

Esta actividad es mucho más que un baile, es toda una expresión cultural con historia y una gran comunidad y que definitivamente ha ganado a muchísimas personas a sus filas.

Dance of Culture and Passion

Today, I want to share some photographs I have from a dance I practiced many years ago. But! The one in the photos isn’t me, haha. I can’t do those moves anymore.

I’m talking about breakdancing, a style of dance that started back in the 1970s, where art, urban culture, and a myriad of movements come together.

This way of expressing oneself has grown over time, evolved, and spread around the globe, becoming a dance that transcends borders. Breakdancing emerged from the hip-hop scene, which is a whole cultural movement rooted in African American and Latino neighborhoods in New York, where dance, art, and music blended together.

Breakdancing took shape and developed as both a competition and a celebration, with b-boys and b-girls (as those who practice this dance are called) showcasing their skills in battles, sometimes individually or in groups, taking place anywhere in the city that presented an opportunity.

I remember when I enjoyed dancing this way; I was in my first year of high school, and I even recall seeing a movie called "Breakdance" in theaters. Some of the moves are quite physically demanding, but they’re not just technical movements; they’re also a form of personal and artistic expression, with each participant adding their own style.

Through this dance, many young people find a way to channel their energy, connect with others, and build an identity.

Breakdancing is gaining more recognition, and in 2020, it was included as a discipline in the Olympic Games, though its evaluation left a lot to be desired.

This activity is much more than just a dance; it’s a whole cultural expression with history and a strong community that has definitely welcomed countless people into its ranks.
