Welcome to Pennsylvania

We are into the deep winter season here in Toronto. Not much traveling this year to enjoy the snow. Last year, we went on a road trip further north to experience skiing and snowboarding. I cannot ski or snowboard but I wanted to make sure I internalized the snow and cold as I now live in a country where we are covered by snow for half a year.
This post is not about the winter road trip. While we are enjoying our sub zero temperature, I wanted to go back to the days when things were not this cold in our part of the world. Trees were green, the landscape was amazing, the sun would shine for most of the day and the temperature would welcome us outdoors. Yes, we do have that weather as well. Just wait for another five months, and we are out again 🙂
This trip was south of the border into the US. We were visiting my wife’s sister in Pennsylvania. It is roughly nine hours of drive if we include breaks that we normally take in between. The drive in the summer season is amazing. We would cross the US border in upstate NewYork and get into their highways. We traveled really early in the morning to avoid the morning rush traffic at the border.
And, that’s when we got these amazing fiery sky shots. Look at those clouds. It was perfect if you are a photographer looking to shoot rising sun. Those flaky clouds made our morning. We were jamming on our family music while the kiddo was still half asleep. Fun days.
We drove all the way down to the Pennsylvania border after crossing Syracuse on our way down south. A couple of customary pics at the rest area at the state border. The drive back then was okay as we were rushing to reach Philly. It is funny how everything pops right in front of my eyes while I am going through these photos again.
I will try to find if I have pics from Philly and New York that I can share next time. Fun little trip that we had last summer.
