What is Brigada Eskwela?

Last August 8, 2022, we just launch our Annual Brigada Eskwela with the theme "𝐓𝐮𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐭𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐥". At Taglawig Elementary School.
The Brigada Eskwela is a schools maintenance program nationwide that engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, efforts and resources in ensuring that public schools are all set in time for class opening. (DO_s2008_024-DepEd)
It is one of the Department of Education programs that promotes volunteerism and stakeholders engagement.
In this School year 2022-2023, our Brigada Eskwela was held on August 1- 26, 2022.
Our school faculty together with parents, private individual,youth voulunteers and Brgy. Officials are working hand on hand to prepare our school become ready in face to face classes!

As you can see in the picture our school has limited facilities, we are away from the cities. Our students are deprived from exposures in technology,having complete school supplies and even uniforms to wear.
We do not have library, but we have reading corners inside our classrooms. Where books are coming from donations.
We do not have clinic, yet we have First aid kits, medicine and trained teachers in case of emergency.
We do not have computer laboratory, yet we share our laptop and sometimes our personal cellphone to our students just to expose them in technology.
As a teacher, it is very challenging to teach having limited resources but we never stop seeking for resources that may help us in delivering quality education.
Despite of all deprivation, teachers and other kind hearted volunteers took a big part to provide the needs necessary for learning.
Recently, we just received 5,000 pesos from our alumni. We are very happy to accept it for we will going to use it for the construction of our perimeter fence and we are still conducting donation drive.
Brigada Eskwela is very important program for us because this program is our way off calling for volunteers and donors to help us with our endeavor.
Little by little, we are very optimistic that our small school will grow soon with the help of our stakeholders.
