Efficient Work
Whenever it comes to being productive or handling any sort of work, my mind has its distinct other-worldly ways of functioning; relying on a few strange tactics that may seem odd to the very normal and real world. The image I've attached here is a perfect example I'd say, it shows the inside mechanics and my whole thought process quite accurately. Showing that no matter how random and cluttered the process may appear, it still is working well and holding the structure in place.
We all have our very personal methods when it comes our work ethic, when it comes to getting things done, and that's how it should be. We should stay committed when it comes to exploring and testing every method we get to know about, just to find out what works best for us, to improve day by day, to make progress. Looking for different strategies that are efficient for us and our line of work, something that gels well with our routine and our interests as well.
Over the past few years as I kept on discovering myself and kept upgrading my ways of being productive and efficient; I steadily picked out the issues and common hurdles that I face and the methods that I prefer when tackling these issues. In due course, I slowly started to realize that I can't really pay much attention to a certain thing for more than 2 to 3 hours or so, unless it's something that I'm really good at.
And, if I want to stay on track and finish my work on time, then I'll have to "lose track" for a bit, and then find my way back again, quite odd right?
Like whenever I'm working at home, if I've been on my desk for more than 2 hours then I'll probably have to get up and focus on something else, maybe read a book, watch an informative video on YouTube, learn a new skill, and so on. After about 30 minutes or an hour of "wandering" around, I quite effortlessly bring myself back on that damn desk and finish what I started; no matter how long it takes, on the second run I usually get it all done in one sitting.
Now, I don't know what type of "condition" this is, I say it's just me and my way of tackling certain tasks; even categorizing this "condition" under ADD would be wrong, because I don't forget about my task, nor do I get distracted. All I really do is take a break and focus on something else, maybe a favorite hobby of mine that has piqued my interest for the moment. When I decide to step away, I just steer myself towards another "personal task" and it's just me investing that extra bit of time behind another hobby or skill of mine.
This method may seem odd, but it has been working quite well so far; yes, it doesn't guarantee any sort of superpowers, like razor-sharp focus or high efficiency, but it does help me stay on track, my own track. A track that quite certainly isn't built for speed, nor is it straight or well paved, but it's the only method that has been keeping me on track when it comes to being productive, steering me away from wasting my time on impractical activities.
Yet, that's just me during my "work hours", when it comes to my free time, a goofy and lazier side is what you can expect. You can say that I'm an active + lazy type of person, someone who would rather take the stairs instead of the elevator, but also sleep for 10 hours straight if given the chance haha.
Another tip, something that helps me tremendously: make sure you have a cup of coffee or tea when working, take your time with it as well, don't just guzzle it down lol.
It surely does work like a charm for me haha.
Cheers folks. ☕️🖤
Hello @riz611
Your post made me smile and I have one important question for you:
Do you use PeakD or Ecency to work?
Do you view your page as the Blog format, Grid format, or List format?
💯%
And, if I want to stay on track and finish my work on time, then I'll have to "lose track" for a bit, and then find my way back again, quite odd right?
Haha! I'm just like this!
Yeah! It's strange... It's the exact same for me.
Your opening paragraph made total sense to me too, and the image. I've been having similar thoughts too... If someone should see a picture of my brainwaves and how it works, good luck in trying to follow it... That's why I'm curious to know how you view your page and then I'll explain:)
Thanks for your #KISS
I enjoyed it 😉
lips sealed
Hey, heyy, how've you been? Hope you're doing well. ☀️
PeakD all day haha.
Blog format is my go to, but when I scour through the communities that I follow, I then switch to the Grid format, it's a bit more "efficient" that way I'd say.
Let's just say we're weird like that, but at least it's a method that works. 😏
See? Right now it surely looks like a full-proof method to me, at least for us crazies. 😂
I have those moments too, an imagine of my thought process and how my mind functions would leave many flabbergasted. It can be quite random most of the time, sometimes a bit too fast to keep up with, but even through all the randomness, my mind and I somehow stay composed, when it comes o work.
Well, you have your answer now haha. I do prefer the Blog format more, looks a bit cleaner and easy to handle, but a few communities favor the Grid format and also look better that way, that's when I make the switch.
You are welcome. ❤️
And I thank you for taking the time to drop by and for this interesting little comment of yours. Take care now. 🥃
Aha!
😆 I have always used GRID.
Funnily, I'm very organized and I like order, so naturally, I would expect to function best in the BLOG format, since it's structured and well-presented and you have the option to scroll across the photos.
BUT!
Somehow BLOG format feels like it's trying to slow down my brain 🤣 and I get a little irritated and quickly switch it back to the GRID and my brain is ok...
I admit that when I wake up, it is nicer to see the layout as a BLOG but to browse, it has to be in GRID...the list format is an absolute no! That's just too title, and it would make me nervous to sit and browse that way 🤣
For the coming year, I hope to do a little self work to make my brain a little more "steady" and I will try to use the BLOG format more:)
I appreciate your reply, and I was more curious, because what you described in your post is so similar to my peculiar way of doing things 🤣
The list view is for psychopaths 😂 only someone with eagle vision or something can use that format, it's just way too small haha.
And like you mentioned, for browsing Grid is still the best, I have to agree. Blog is better suited for a cleaner and steadier reading/browsing experience I'd say.
It's all about preference, just stick with what works for you, also try out a few different methods every now and then.
We seem to be among the bunch who are intrigued by the peculiarity of one another haha. 😵
That's so very true:)
I found out that the blog format works best on mobile. I rarely use my mobile for Hive, but it's good to know.
I appreciate your response:)))
Do you use an app or the usual browsers? I know there's an Eccency app, but I barely use anything related Hive on my phone, my PC gets the job done quite fine.
Same here, same here haha. 😌
There is the Ecency app on my phone, and PeakD - not really an app, but I have it saved and used like an app.
Mobile is only when I have to view some photos that don't load on my laptop for some reason, especially through the Liketu app.
It's the same case for me almost, I guess I'll have to download and see how the mobile apps work.
I really don't think there's a PeakD app. because I can't find it in Play Store or from my Apple Store. I think you just have to browse through Chrome or any other browser on your phone and then it saves the PeakD (easily access that looks like an app) there:)
Yep, PeakD doesn't have an app, but it still does work quite nicely with any mobile browser, feels just like an app to be honest, you should try it.
Yeah, I think it's the same one that I use on my mobile. Not bad at all:)
