DISCOVERY OF THE LONG-HORNED BEETLE // Photography behind the macro lens camera

In this post, I will share my experience and success in capturing the beauty of a long-horned beetle that I found in a palm oil plantation. I can say that the population of this insect is already quite rare in my area and finding it is not an easy thing now, but sometimes luck comes by itself without any warning.
This beetle is usually found perched on trees or on leaves,if you look at its appearance, this insect looks a little scary, but it is not a natural predator but is better known as a wood pest.

This beetle is also a threat to farmers or wood craftsmen because it can make holes in wood and make holes in it, this is a negative characteristic behind its physical beauty.

Now let's look at the uniqueness of this insect, starting from its color, this insect has a very striking color combination, there is red or orange on the upper body parts such as the wings and also has black on the legs and antennae.

This color is what makes this insect look quite unique and interesting, even this color can be seen when this insect is flying.

In addition to its beautiful color, this insect also has a fairly hard body texture, especially on the shell of its wings. This insect is not poisonous, but it is a wood-chewing insect so it certainly has quite strong jaws, so even though this insect is not poisonous, it is not recommended to play with it because it has a very painful bite.

To get satisfactory results, I tried photographing this insect from various angles, from the side, above, and below. I don't know its true behavior, but at the time, it was calm so I had no trouble photographing it.
And now let's discuss its shape, this insect has an elongated body shape with small but quite hard legs, and it also has two antennae that look segmented which is a characteristic of longhorn beetles.

What makes me very interested in this insect is its very beautiful color, and its beauty will be even more visible if we see it directly under the hot sun, but it is very unfortunate that the population of this insect is already quite rare in my area.

However, we also need to remember that this is an insect that is considered a pest because it can drill into trees, both living and dead, and according to the information I know, this insect also makes its nest in the tree. So, it can be concluded that even though this insect looks very beautiful, there are some people who may not like it.
