What the Streets Reveal For the #monomad challenge

avatar

Going through old folders of street photography, I came across these photographs taken with my Canon 5D Mark III and my all-purpose Canon 24-105mm f/4 lens. For this type of photography, I prefer stopping down to around f/7.1–f/9 to achieve greater depth of field and preserve as much detail as possible throughout the scene.

The streets of Havana, where I took these images, are a box full of surprises. Sometimes you manage to capture something beautiful; other times, something ordinary, and the challenge is to make it impactful according to my way of seeing.

Lately, however, you also come across things that hurt. I tend to avoid posting that kind of image, but sometimes reality needs to be shown, no matter how painful it may be.

Carrying my gear through the streets is a headache. You always have to be looking in every direction, and not necessarily for the perfect shot… but for survival.

I hope you enjoy these photographs I’m sharing with you. I appreciate every comment and/or critique that can help me continue improving.

Greetings to everyone.
