Once… for the #monomad challenge
Hello, PeakD community.
I know… I barely give you a break. I post so often that you don’t even get the chance to miss me. But here we go again, once again with a black and white series inspired by several moments I lived recently: fishing, motion, marine life, and even a small gastronomic detail that deserved to be told.
These images come from moments with their own weight. A fisherman celebrating his catch with a smile heavier than the wahoo itself; a boat drifting away as the water splits behind it, marking the end of a long day; and a still-life of flavors that, even without color, breathes texture and character.
Turning them into black and white isn’t a whim. It’s a way to strip the scene of noise and focus solely on light, shape, and emotion. My Canon 5D Mark III keeps performing like a warrior, and the 70–300mm paired with the old Praktica 135mm gives me that blend of modern sharpness and vintage soul that I love so much.
I’m sharing this series because each photo tells something different, yet they all share the same spirit: real moments, no forced poses, no artificial drama. Just people living, working, celebrating… and me there, quietly watching and waiting for the right moment.
Thank you for always being around, even when I don’t give you the chance to think, “Where has this Ricky disappeared to?”
A big hug, and I hope you enjoy this new entry.
