A New Dawn: Havana 2019

After a long process of reviewing, editing, and selecting, we’ve finally closed the chapter on the photos from 2018. Each image was a fragment of exploration, instinct, and passion… but now it’s time to move forward.

Today, we begin sharing the photographic archive from 2019.

This new series starts right where everything began: on a rooftop, witnessing a sunrise that marked the beginning of another journey through Havana. From there, I stepped down into the streets, guided by light and intuition, letting the city itself shape the path.

Throughout that year, I used two cameras: a Nikon D300s, paired with a 24mm f/2.8 and an 80-200mm f/2.8, which was my primary setup for most of the shots; and my trusty Canon XTi, with the modest 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses, which came into play when the Nikon’s battery finally gave out. It was an exercise in adaptation, improvisation, and staying loyal to the eye more than the gear.

Bit by bit, I’ll be sharing various urban scenes from that year visual fragments of my walk through Havana, capturing who I was then, and tracing the path toward who I’ve become.
