Ray tracing is a game changer; new GPUs with more ray tracing cores get us closer and closer to 60 frames per second of real-time raytracing. You already see it in many AAA games. However, they have to employ lots of tricks and optimisation to make it performant. Won't be long though; another decade and the "metaverse" is going to look like IRL.
