Yesterday, in many parts of Cuba, people received an fake earthquake alert on their phones that frightened everyone who got it. Anxiety was everywhere. And it is impossible not to think about what has happened in Venezuela and Colombia, where sadly so many people have suffered because of these devastating events.
And then comes the reflection: what is truly essential in our lives when we suddenly find ourselves in a situation like that?
If we really think about it, there are very few things that truly matter. What matters most are the people closest to us, those we love and who, when faced with a situation like this, would be the first ones we would try to save.
That is why today's portraits are intimate, personal, and very close. Faces and people that, in one way or another, represent precisely that: what truly matters.

Ayer, en muchas partes de Cuba, los teléfonos recibieron una falsa alerta de sismo que asustó a todo el que la recibió. La ansiedad se hizo presente por doquier. Y es inevitable pensar en lo que ha sucedido en Venezuela y Colombia, donde lamentablemente tantas personas han sufrido las consecuencias de estos eventos.
Y entonces llega la reflexión: ¿qué es realmente esencial en nuestras vidas cuando nos encontramos de repente en una situación límite como esa?
Si lo pensamos bien, son pocas las cosas que realmente importan. Lo esencial son las personas que tenemos cerca, aquellas que amamos y que, llegado el momento, serían lo primero que intentaríamos salvar.
Por eso, hoy los retratos son íntimos, personales, muy cercanos. Rostros y personas que, de una forma u otra, representan precisamente eso: lo que realmente importa.

If I am at the situations where earthquakes shoke the place, It might be in nervous. Really experiencing earthquakes is not easy, trauma and worries are on our mind.
We hope that the place in Venezuela and other Countries are now in recover.
