Greetings hivers.

It’s been a few days since I last went out on the streets. Between the blackouts and the need to adapt things at home to this imposed new normal, most of my time has been taken up.

But I never miss the chance to pick up my camera. Here I’m sharing a selection from a photoshoot I did for a birthday girl who came to my studio. I’m really happy with the results, by the way.

When a client changes their social media profile picture to a photograph taken by me, there’s a certain feeling of accomplishment that I can’t really explain, but it feels amazing.

I think that’s when you realize photography goes far beyond just taking pictures. It’s about capturing a moment that someone wants to show to the world, a version of themselves they feel happy and identified with.

Sometimes, with so many difficulties around us, it’s easy to forget how meaningful this profession can be, but sessions like this remind me why I keep carrying a camera every single day.

Hace unos cuantos días que ni salgo a la calle, entre los apagones, la necesidad de ajustar cosas en la casa para la impuesta nueva normalidad, me ocupa mucho tiempo.

Pero nunca dejo pasar la oportunidad de disparar la cámara, aquí les presento una selección de una sesión de fotos que le hice a una cumpleañera que vino a mi estudio. Muy conforme con el resultado por cierto.

Cuando un cliente cambia la foto de perfil en sus redes sociales por una fotografía hecha por mi, hay un cierto sentimiento de logro que no se como explicar pero es genial.

Creo que ahí es donde uno entiende que la fotografía va mucho más allá de una simple imagen. Es capturar un momento que alguien quiere mostrarle al mundo, una versión de sí mismo con la que se siente identificado y feliz.

A veces entre tantas dificultades uno olvida lo importante que puede llegar a ser este oficio, pero sesiones como esta me recuerdan por qué sigo cargando una cámara todos los días.
