To close this series of posts on street photography, I want to talk about an aspect that often goes unnoticed: the relationship between light and mood in our images.

When I walk around the city with my camera in hand (or even without it), I notice how light shapes each scene. It is not just a technical factor, but an element that defines the emotion of the image. The harsh light of midday cuts silhouettes and creates aggressive contrasts, conveying tension or drama. In contrast, the soft light of morning or dusk envelops the subjects in a more introspective, almost melancholic atmosphere.

Learning to read light is fundamental in street photography. Sometimes it's not about what's happening in the scene, but how the light transforms the everyday into something worth photographing. I have discovered that, beyond the people and their gestures, it is the lighting that guides me in the composition and the story I want to tell.

With this series I wanted to share a bit of my vision and process. I hope you enjoyed the images as much as I did capturing and rediscovering them. See you in the next post.

Para cerrar esta serie de publicaciones sobre fotografía callejera, quiero hablar de un aspecto que muchas veces pasa desapercibido: la relación entre la luz y el estado de ánimo en nuestras imágenes.

Cuando camino por la ciudad con la cámara en mano (o incluso sin ella), noto cómo la luz moldea cada escena. No es solo un factor técnico, sino un elemento que define la emoción de la imagen. La luz dura del mediodía recorta las siluetas y crea contrastes agresivos, transmitiendo tensión o dramatismo. En cambio, la luz suave de la mañana o el atardecer envuelve los sujetos en una atmósfera más introspectiva, casi melancólica.

Aprender a leer la luz es fundamental en la fotografía callejera. A veces, no se trata de lo que está pasando en la escena, sino de cómo la luz transforma lo cotidiano en algo digno de ser fotografiado. He descubierto que, más allá de las personas y sus gestos, es la iluminación la que me guía en la composición y en la historia que quiero contar.
