Greetings, Hivers 🙌

It’s incredible how humanity, ever since it learned to join materials that could withstand the passing of time, has dedicated itself to building larger and larger structures. Some were created simply to prove that it could be done. Churches, monuments, pyramids… the world is full of massive constructions that reveal the brilliance and power of the minds behind them.

In Havana, we have several examples that stand out across the landscape. I’m not referring to modern skyscrapers, but to those giants of stone and faith that have resisted the passage of time: the churches that rise toward the sky with solemn elegance, the Christ of Havana watching over the city from above, and the tall towers that seem to want to touch the clouds.

Each of these structures is a reminder of humanity’s ability to dream big a mix of art, engineering, and spirituality that drives us to leave a mark. When I walk through the city and look up at them, I can’t help but feel deep admiration for those who imagined and built these monuments that still inspire awe and respect today.

Es increíble como la humanidad, desde que pudo unir materiales que resistían el paso del tiempo, se dedicó a edificar estructuras cada vez más grandes. Algunas cuyo único propósito era demostrar que se podía hacer. Iglesias, monumentos, pirámides… el mundo está lleno de enormes construcciones que revelan la genialidad y el poder de las mentes detrás de ellas.

En La Habana tenemos varios ejemplos que destacan en el paisaje. No me refiero a los rascacielos modernos, sino a esos gigantes de piedra y fe que han resistido el paso del tiempo, las iglesias que se elevan hacia el cielo con una elegancia solemne, el Cristo de La Habana que vigila la ciudad desde lo alto, y esas torres que parecen querer tocar las nubes.

Cada una de estas estructuras es un recordatorio de la capacidad humana para soñar en grande, de esa mezcla entre arte, ingeniería y espiritualidad que nos impulsa a dejar huella. Cuando camino por la ciudad y levanto la vista para verlas, no puedo evitar sentir una profunda admiración por quienes imaginaron y construyeron estos monumentos que, aún hoy, siguen inspirando asombro y respeto.
