Greetings hivers.

Today we are going to play a bit with light. Shooting with a single light source may seem limiting, but it actually opens up a whole world of creative possibilities. With just one point of light, we can shape the body, guide the viewer’s eye, and build a very defined atmosphere.

Personally, I tend to lean toward low key lighting. I enjoy working with minimal light, letting the shadows breathe and allowing parts of the scene to remain hidden. Silhouettes, strong contrasts, and deep shadows allow us to suggest more than we show, and that is where, for me, the image gains strength.

Highlighting certain parts of the body while others fade into darkness creates an interesting balance between what is seen and what is concealed. It becomes a constant interplay between light and shadow, where every decision completely transforms the final result.

Here I leave you some examples of this type of lighting. They may seem like simple exercises, but they are rich in expressive possibilities.

Hoy vamos a jugar un poco con la luz. Retratar con una sola fuente puede parecer limitado, pero en realidad abre un mundo de posibilidades creativas. Con un solo punto de luz podemos moldear el cuerpo, dirigir la mirada y construir una atmósfera muy marcada.

Personalmente suelo inclinarme por las claves bajas. Me atrae trabajar con poca luz, dejar que las sombras respiren y que no todo esté completamente revelado. Las siluetas, los contrastes fuertes y las zonas en penumbra permiten sugerir más de lo que muestran, y ahí es donde, para mí, la imagen gana fuerza.

Marcar ciertas partes del cuerpo mientras otras se pierden en la oscuridad genera un equilibrio interesante entre lo visible y lo oculto. Es un juego constante entre luz y sombra, donde cada decisión cambia por completo el resultado final.

Aquí les dejo algunos ejemplos de este tipo de iluminación. Son ejercicios sencillos en apariencia, pero muy ricos en posibilidades expresivas.
