Hello friends of the black and white community.

When we think of the Malecón, the first image that comes to mind is the vast sea, waves crashing against the wall, and that endless horizon that suggests freedom. But turning around, just a few steps away, there is another panorama — fragile buildings, worn walls, balconies at the edge of collapse. The beauty of the sea meets the decay of the city.

This duality fascinates me. It’s as if the Malecón whispers two truths at once: one of openness, dreams, and infinity, and another of weight, erosion, and the passage of time. My photographs try to capture that invisible dialogue, not looking at the ocean, but at what crumbles quietly behind us.

Hola amigos de la comunidad blanco y negro.

Cuando pensamos en el Malecón, la primera imagen que viene a la mente es la inmensidad del mar, las olas golpeando contra el muro y ese horizonte interminable que sugiere libertad. Pero al girar, a solo unos pasos, aparece otro panorama: edificios frágiles, muros gastados, balcones al borde del derrumbe. La belleza del mar se encuentra con la decadencia de la ciudad.

Esa dualidad me atrae. Es como si el Malecón susurrara dos verdades al mismo tiempo: una de apertura, sueños e infinito, y otra de peso, erosión y el paso del tiempo. Mis fotografías intentan capturar ese diálogo invisible, no mirando al océano, sino a lo que se desmorona en silencio a nuestras espaldas.
