Greetings hivers, lovers of black and white photography.

There is something that, despite the passing of the years and all the difficulties, has remained unchange still stands strong in the streets of Havana and throughout Cuba.

The joy of children.

With the power cuts and the impossibility of enjoying television, video games or social media, the little ones have no choice but to go out into the streets. And out there, they can be incredibly creative, so much so that sometimes you really have to be afraid for them. They dive headfirst into the sea from the Malecón, play in busy streets, or who knows what else.

But it is beautiful to see that their joy has not diminished. In their partial innocence, they don't seem to be affected by social problems in the same way we are. Or perhaps they are affected, but they simply have another way of dealing with them. Somehow, they manage to escape, even if only for a while, from the stress that comes with everyday life in Cuba today.

And I'm glad they can.

Let them enjoy it, because that innocence eventually fades, and things begin to take on a much grayer tone.

Saludos hivers amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro.

Hay algo que, a pesar de los años y de todas las dificultades, no ha cambiado y todavía se mantiene firme en las calles de La Habana y de toda Cuba.

La alegría de los niños.

Con los cortes de electricidad y la imposibilidad de que los más pequeños disfruten de la televisión, los videojuegos o las redes sociales, no les queda otra que salir a la calle. Y ahí son especialmente creativos, tanto que en ocasiones hasta hay que cogerles miedo. Lo mismo se tiran de cabeza al mar desde el Malecón, juegan en calles transitadas o quién sabe cuántas cosas más.

Pero es realmente agradable ver que su alegría no ha mermado. En su relativa inocencia, parece que los problemas sociales no les afectan de la misma manera que a nosotros. O quizás sí les afectan, solo que tienen otra forma de afrontarlos. De alguna manera logran escapar, aunque sea por un rato, del estrés que conlleva la vida diaria en Cuba hoy.

Y yo me alegro.

Que lo disfruten, porque esa inocencia un día se acaba y las cosas comienzan a tomar un matiz mucho más gris.

Espero disfruten esta pequeña selección.
