A hug to all who pass by.

23rd Street, better known as La Rampa, is much more than an urban stretch in the heart of Vedado. It is a constant river of people, cars, stories and architecture. Here the city breathes at its own pace, between buildings that have seen decades go by and people who cross the street as if it were theirs too.

To walk along La Rampa is to encounter the most lively Havana: cafes that resist, facades that talk, young people in a hurry, old people with time, tourists who watch and locals who no longer do. Everything fits in this street. Everything coexists.

In these images I try to capture that pulse. Not only what is seen, but what is sensed: the heat, the noise, the mixture. La Rampa is still a backbone of the city, and photographing it is a way to understand it, or at least to feel it.

La calle 23, más conocida como La Rampa, es mucho más que un tramo urbano en el corazón del Vedado. Es un río constante de gente, autos, historias y arquitectura. Aquí la ciudad respira a su propio ritmo, entre edificios que han visto pasar décadas y personas que cruzan como si la calle también fuera suya.

Caminar por La Rampa es encontrarse con la Habana más viva: cafés que resisten, fachadas que hablan, jóvenes con prisa, ancianos con tiempo, turistas que miran y locales que ya no. Todo cabe en esta calle. Todo convive.

En estas imágenes intento atrapar ese pulso. No solo lo que se ve, sino lo que se intuye: el calor, el ruido, la mezcla. La Rampa sigue siendo una espina dorsal de la ciudad, y fotografiarla es una forma de entenderla, o al menos, de sentirla.
