Fishing for Survival / #monomad challenge / [ING/ESP]

The photos 📸 are my entry to the #monomad contest from @monochromes and @brumest.
Greetings Hivers.
Cuba is an island, surrounded by the sea and with a very rich marine fauna. That is why it is hard to understand why there are not fish for sale everywhere here. Well, in reality it is understandable, but that is not today’s topic.
The point is that, with so many shortages, it has become very common to come across amateur fishermen who, from the Havana coastline, cast their hooks and nets to be able to take something home to eat.
The photographs I share with you today are of some young people who position themselves on the floating walkway, a platform whose destiny shifted from being a place of leisure to becoming a stronghold for fishermen. There, they have removed some of the floor tiles to collect small bait creatures, which they then use to cast their fishing nets in hopes of earning their reward.
Watching them is hypnotizing. There is something almost artistic in the way they handle those tangled nets that seem as if they will never be untangled again, yet they always come out perfectly when they fly off in search of their prey. They are truly very skilled.
With this small series, I want to pay a sincere tribute to those people who do not wait for someone to place food on their plate, but instead go out and look for it themselves.

Saludos Hivers.
