Greetings, friends from the Black and White community, Hivers.

During the summer, in some parts of Havana, fairs are organized where food is sold, music is played, and they take place in public spaces such as busy streets closed to traffic and plazas. These photos were taken at La Piragua, a place well known to Havana locals for often hosting events like this. In addition to the stalls, there’s music, invited artists, and overall a great atmosphere.

I don’t usually attend many fairs, but this time I happened to be nearby, so my wife and I decided to take a walk and see what was going on. And of course, I couldn’t pass up the chance to take a few photos, which I now share with you, hoping you’ll enjoy them.

Por el verano, en algunos lugares de La Habana se organizan ferias donde venden comestibles, ponen música y las realizan en espacios públicos, como calles céntricas que cierran al tráfico y plazas. Estas fotos las hice en La Piragua, un sitio muy conocido por los habaneros, pues suele ser escenario de actividades como esta. Además de la venta, ponen música, invitan a artistas y, en general, se pasa un buen rato.

Yo no suelo acudir mucho a ferias, pero en esta ocasión estaba cerca y mi esposa y yo decidimos darnos una vuelta para ver qué había de bueno. Y, por supuesto, no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de hacer unas cuantas fotos, que aquí les comparto con la esperanza de que les gusten.

Where I live, there are always places like those fairs where they sell practically everything, from food to clothing, but they are now permanent places throughout the year.
