About light and shadow/ #monomad challenge / [ING/ESP]

The photos 📸 are my entry to the #monomad contest from @monochromes and @brumest.

Greetings friends hivers.

Today I share with you some street photos where light and shadow are the protagonists. In street photography you don't control the light: you observe it, wait for it and take advantage of it. The contrast between light and dark creates scenes with drama, mystery and form.

Some techniques I use:

  • Go out in the morning or late afternoon, when the light is low and directional.
  • Look for transitions between light and shadow for more intense framing.
  • Expose for highlights, leaving deep shadows full of texture.
  • Use lines, reflections and patterns of light to compose with intent.
  • Wait for the subject just as it enters the beam or crosses a sharp shadow.

The street is always changing, but if one stops to look, the instant appears.
Thank you for joining me in this game of lights and silences.

Saludos amigos hivers.

It is indeed true as you said, going out in the morning and in the afternoon is certainly a great time for photography, and today you took some very interesting pictures, my friend.

Thank you my friend. I always go out in the afternoon. There is more movement of people and the sun can be seen better in the city. Thanks for commenting.

Wow!... A photo with a magnificent visual rhythm. I don't know why, but I stared at it for minutes and ended up saying, "I'd take that shot too if I were passing by and saw that." Applause!
