Greetings, hivers of the black and white community.

Today I want to show you a picture: the first one, the one of the man on the bicycle. To achieve this image I used a photographic technique known as sweep. It consists of slowing down the shutter speed and following a moving subject with the camera, trying to move your hand at the same speed as the subject. I find it particularly difficult. In fact, I had to take about 20 photos until I got one that I really liked.

My friend @muhammadhalim is very skilled with this technique. Being a wildlife photographer, he's used to freezing birds in mid-flight, going hundreds of kilometres per hour... So stopping the movement of a car is a piece of cake for him! Hahaha. He's a real pro at sweeping.

The rest of the photos are of a couple of fishermen. After chatting a bit with them, I continued documenting their routine and made a small report. These brave men spend up to 24 hours in their makeshift boats, carrying just a few packets of biscuits and some water. When I asked them if they were not afraid, their answer was great: "There are those who made it to Florida with less".

I sincerely hope they had a good fishing trip. And that you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed making them.

Hoy quiero mostrarles una foto: la primera, la del señor en la bicicleta. Para lograr esa imagen utilicé una técnica fotográfica conocida como barrido. Consiste en bajar la velocidad de obturación y seguir con la cámara a un sujeto en movimiento, intentando mover la mano a la misma velocidad que él. A mí me resulta especialmente difícil. De hecho, tuve que hacer como 20 fotos hasta conseguir una que realmente me gustara.

Mi amigo @muhammadhalim es muy hábil con esta técnica. Siendo fotógrafo de vida silvestre, está acostumbrado a congelar aves en pleno vuelo, que van a cientos de kilómetros por hora… ¡Así que detener el movimiento de un auto le resulta pan comido! Jajaja. Es un verdadero profesional del barrido.

El resto de las fotos son de una pareja de pescadores. Luego de conversar un poco con ellos, seguí documentando su rutina e hice un pequeño reportaje. Estos valientes pasan hasta 24 horas en sus embarcaciones improvisadas, llevando apenas unos paquetes de galletas y algo de agua. Cuando les pregunté si no tenían miedo, su respuesta fue genial: “Hay quien llegó a la Florida con menos.”

Espero sinceramente que hayan tenido una buena pesca. Y que ustedes disfruten las imágenes tanto como yo disfruté hacerlas.
