258 / #monomad challenge / [ING/ESP]
The photos 📸 are my entry to the #monomad contest from @monochromes and @brumest.
The 258th house
They say that there are numbers that are repeated in places where something happens that should not be explained.
The 2: duality, portals, reflections.
The 5: change, chaos, the middle point between the earthly and the spiritual.
The 8: the eternal return, the cycle that does not close.
258 It doesn't look like much. But when I saw it painted with a black brush on a dirty wall, I felt something. A dull pressure in my chest. As if that number was not just an address... but a warning.
Inside, in the shadows, a doll was looking at me. Still, dressed as if she had been waiting for something for a long time. A small, dark figure, sitting among empty cans, under a bulb that barely illuminates. But what is most disturbing is her gaze. Empty. Direct.
The kind of look you feel on the back of your neck, even after you've walked away.
They say that this house has been closed for years. But someone, or something, always puts the doll back in its place. As if it were part of a ritual. As if she can't leave.
I walked by. I looked. And I kept walking.
But ever since then, I keep seeing that number. 258. On receipts, on license plates, on random digital watches.
And it wasn't just the doll. From the inside, there are other things looking at you too. Things that are still there. Silent. Eternal and much darker than a cursed doll.
258 No parece gran cosa.

Wow… this story really sticks with you. These photos have something unsettling about them, and the narrative only amplifies that feeling. The number 258 will never look the same again – from now on, it will remind me of something more than just an address. Great work, like a scene from a dark short story – brilliant idea and execution!
Thank you very much my friend. Sometimes the pictures alone don't tell the story well. I'm glad you like it.
This is the street and all its elements at their best.
Thanks a lot my friend 🫂
