The Neighborhood Troublemaker

In my neighborhood, there are a lot of cats. Whether they’re stray or domesticated, lots of cats can be found roaming around in the early morning or at night.

But there’s one snappy feline that has a reputation as being aggressive. I’ll call him Grey, since his dominant color is gray.

I heard from my family that Grey is usually grumpy, and always seems to cause trouble. The first time I saw Grey he looked just fine. All he did was lay on the wall and acknowledge my existence.

The second time I saw him, however, was with a friend. A fluffy, black and white cat was accompanying Grey one morning and when they saw us, they stopped what they were doing and stared at us.

Grey looked at his friend, then back at us, then back at his friend, and then began strolling in our direction. He knew we were going to cross the street, and acted as a barrier between us and his fluffy friend. He waited for us to pass. As we walked by he watched us carefully, the black and white cat looking on at us all.

I still think about that instance. It seemed Grey was protecting that fluffy cat from us, but why? Was that his girlfriend? Where they best friends off to do something sneaky? I find it interesting that Grey is very feisty, but loyal towards his friend.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
