I wake up to the noise of a fan swaying left and right. I try to go back to sleep, but the drowsy feeling is gone. Glancing out the window, I see the sun hanging low, casting long shadows on the floor. It's 9 am, and the air is crisp, motivating me to get up and kickstart the day. Today is special; my wife and I have plans to explore the parks in Putrajaya. After a quick breakfast and fixing meals for our kids at home, I tie my shoelaces. I feel a mix of excitement and contemplation in the air. The new year, 2024, is approaching, and it brings a bit of mystery, making me slightly nervous yet excited. But for now, I'm focused on walking, letting the excitement grow with each step.

Saujana Hijau Park is one of the 15 parks in Putrajaya, inviting me to discover its beautiful man-made landscapes. The park acts as a calm haven amid the bustling city, promising peace and enjoyment. As I jog, the city comes to life. Surrounding the park are houses and apartments, mainly owned by government workers in Putrajaya. The city's sounds blend with the rustling leaves and birds' chirping, creating a pleasant start to my adventure.

At the park's entrance, I'm greeted by lush greenery. Tall trees form a canopy, allowing bits of sunlight to filter through. The air is cool, carrying the scent of damp soil and sweet flowers. I take a deep breath, sensing the weight of the upcoming year lifting with each exhale.
My steps are quiet on the paths. The park unfolds like a painting – vibrant flowers, ponds reflecting the sky, and well-kept lawns resembling green carpets. Laughter echoes, with kids chasing butterflies and couples walking hand in hand. The park is alive, a miniature version of the bustling city surrounding it.

I enjoy jogging until I forget the distance I've covered

As I jog, I reflect on the beautiful trees in the park. I'm excited about what 2024 might bring, but there's also a bit of uncertainty. However, surrounded by nature, my uncertainty lessens. My breathing and footsteps keep me in the moment. The park becomes a sanctuary, where time slows down, and the future isn't as overwhelming.

I managed to complete my exercise, covering a distance of 5.5 km. Don't count that 5.5 km as the park's total area; it's just me continuously walking around, climbing hills, and descending to capture the beautiful views I want to share. At times, I wonder what would happen if I lost my way in the park, but there are plenty of visitors in the area, providing reassurance. Putrajaya Park management has done an excellent job.

Done for the day, heading back home

When I leave the park, the weather is gloomy, as if it's going to rain at any time. My wife and I still want to capture more pictures to share, but it's already close to 11 am, so we decide to call it a day before the rain catches us. More importantly, I feel calm and prepared. Returning to the busy city, the tranquility of the park stays with me. It serves as a reminder that even with the new year approaching, there are peaceful and beautiful places. So, I'm prepared to embrace whatever 2024 brings, ready to embark on my new journey.
