I choose Tree for Tuesday!

Imagine a day filled with nothing but the soft rustling of leaves, the symphony of birdsong, and the gentle caress of a cool breeze against your skin. Step into the enchanting realm of a natural forest, where time slows down, and worries dissipate amidst the grandeur of ancient trees and the wonders of wildlife.

That's what I have experienced at "Asurar Lake", located in Dinajpur, Bangladesh. The day was spent amazingly in the greenery. Let me share my experience.

This is an uncultivated forest full of Shaal trees/Sakura or shala trees). They are huge and protected by about 857 acres. You can imagine how green the whole place is by the number.

We entered the first and almost lost. There were some walking paths but if you look around you will see, the whole first looks exactly the same as there were mostly one kind of trees. So it's easy to get confused about the direction.

This is how it looks from the outside.

As the sun begins to paint the sky with hues of gold, we embark on a journey into the heart of the forest. With every step, we felt the earth beneath our feet, grounding us in a profound connection to nature.

As the sun reaches its zenith, we found a peaceful spot to rest beneath the canopy. These trees are not best for shade. But there were many wild trees underneath that created a cover over the ground.

We observed the dance of squirrels and listen to the song of the birds.

I have learned that this type of first is called Monodominant forest where more than 60% of the tree canopy comprises a single species of tree. And these are quite common under conditions of extra-tropical climate types.

Shaal trees are not best for birds' habitat. You may not find birds chirping or see wildlife inside the forest. The forest is mostly calm and very quiet inside. That brought a different type of peace inside my heart!

With renewed vigor, we continued our adventure through the labyrinth of greenery. The forest offers an abundance of trails and secret pathways, each leading to a new discovery.
