Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand and the latest one being Australia, it's time to fly over to United Kingdom!

This was a trip I made in 2014, I was there partly for work and partly for leisure as well. At that point in my life, it was one of the further destination that I have travelled all the way from Asia and it was definitely an eye opener to see how United Kingdom, or more specifically London, looked like. One thing that I remembered vividly was how strong GBP was, and everything was so expensive. For example, even though the numerical digits of the prices were small, because 5 or 10 GBP was easily a lot already. Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!

Here are the posts so far:

After leaving Stamford Bridge, I remembered taking Metro down to South Kensington. South Kensington is a place with quite a few museums. There were some museums with free admissions so I decided to head over to explore.

This was at Victoria and Albert Museum. Even though I am not quite a museum person, I think it's still interesting to visit and take a look at the galleries as a lifetime experience.

I liked that they had these open spaces within the museum, for visitors to chill and laze round, and have a snack or sip some coffee.

Next, we moved to the Geological Survey Museum.

While the structure looked very historical on the outside, it was totally different inside. There was this futuristic structure that resembled Earth.

Some horoscope and constellations stuff for people who were interested!

This was the Natural History Museum. Due to time constraint, I didn't enter but just snapped photos of the exterior.

After a series of museums, it's time to head to Knightsbridge, which was not too far off, for some shopping. Chanced upon this Emporio Armani shop, whose design looked quite interesting.

And we finally reached the huge Harrods! Harrods is definitely a must visit for visitors to London, because the whole building is so huge and there's so many things inside.

They had clothes, food, seafood too, tea, coffee, and even chocolates. Just look at the range!

Just like the exterior, the interior was also very aesthetically pleasing and there were very themes for the various sections in the building. I got lost quite a couple of times wandering around.

Would you pay GBP 4.95 for this? It looked cute but it was so expensive for a 20+ year old me back then, so I just took a photo. Haha.

They had the signature bear along with a poster of their night view, which was also as beautiful as the day version.

And here's my purchases for the day! Interestingly, none of them are for myself. It's for family and friends.

So that's it for a long first day in London! It's a very colourful with many different activities to do, even though it can be quite tiring, I thoroughly enjoyed myself visiting a new city in the world and seeing all these new attractions. Definitely excited for the rest of the days in London!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to London or United Kingdom? Let me know in the comments below!

Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
