United Kingdom - Breathtaking Views From The Shard

Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand and the latest one being Australia, it's time to fly over to United Kingdom!
This was a trip I made in 2014, I was there partly for work and partly for leisure as well. At that point in my life, it was one of the further destination that I have travelled all the way from Asia and it was definitely an eye opener to see how United Kingdom, or more specifically London, looked like. One thing that I remembered vividly was how strong GBP was, and everything was so expensive. For example, even though the numerical digits of the prices were small, because 5 or 10 GBP was easily a lot already. Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!
Here are the posts so far:

Time flies and it's already my 5th post for my trip to London! If you realised from my earlier travel posts, whenever I travel to new cities, I like to visit their skyscrapers and head up to the observatory, to get a bird's eye view of the city. Different cities have different layouts because of their city planning, and the nature elements are different too. Some have gardens, some have rivers, and some are coastal cities beside the sea. For London, I visited the observatory at The Shard. Look at how tall the building is!

With more than 70 storeys, we head all the way up to the viewing gallery!

A glimpse of the viewing gallery - there are glass panels for visitors to look through. That's River Thames below, which is a prominent feature in the city.

One of the favourite views of London, with the meandering River Thames and the majestic Tower Bridge all within the snapshot.

They have many rail lines too!

Further up, the city extends.

Looking down, the River Thames was quite busy with the boats and ships of various sizes.

On either side of River Thames, there were skyscrapers because London is one of the financial hubs in the world.

In this photo, we managed to see all the way to the London Eye, which is a popular tourist attraction. It's actually quite far from The Shard but thanks to the good weather, we were able to see so far! Also, the sun was starting to set in the evening so we could see the rays at an angle too.

The many bridges across River Thames, and one of them should be London Bridge. Hehe.

One last snapshot of my favourite before I head down, it was getting late so it's darker than my first shot.

Wow definitely breathtaking views up there at The Shard! I really enjoyed myself admiring the city views, and I thought the meandering River Thames brought a new dimension to the greenery and skyscrapers. It flows through the major parts of the city centre, which probably is also a good sign of life and prosperity.
And that's all I have today! Have you been to London or United Kingdom? Let me know in the comments below!
