Conscience: The Ink Well Prompt #81
Source
Elizabeth Cooper, was the house made of chief Judas Williamson before she was disengaged. She sat alone on the balcony and was lost in thought due to a recent incident at chief Judas' residence.
There was a tap on Elizabeth's shoulder, she was shocked. Hey, you are the one, Susan. You scared me.
What is the matter? I was here a couple of minutes ago but you didn't notice. You better take it easy because we met problems on earth and we shall leave them on Earth, please take it easy. Susan said.
Elizabeth Cooper nodded, hmm, you said I should take it easy. Is it with what is going on? Where the innocent man is being indicted for what he didn't know anything about. Because he didn't have the power to make his stand, to be honest with you. Mr Benson is a nice man who is ready to do anything to assist the needy in times of trouble. Such a man should not be in the position he found himself in.
Susan cuts in. Wait! Wait! So you mean he does not know anything about it, and you know him to that extent? That is great! Then, who did you know that does it? Between you and I, you don't have any power to fight for him in this case because you are a common woman.
Says who? Elizabeth Cooper flew up. I have power if it is not because of any other person but because of a philanthropic man who saved the life of my loved one. This is a democratic era, not an autocratic era where the masses could not talk.
Alright, what do we do now because this thing is going out of our control? Hehe, so people can exercise their power over another person without thinking about it twice. Said Susan.
Meanwhile, the police interrogated him to the extent that he confessed to a crime he didn't know anything about with the hope that if he says yes to the police, they will discharge him and be acquitted. He has been charged to court for an adequate judgement. Both plaintiff and defence lawyers had talked and it was time for the Justice to deliver judgement over the case. The court environment was perfectly silent. And everyone was expecting justice to pronounce judgement on the case. Elizabeth Cooper ran into the court chamber without considering what would happen to her.
The court was disorganised, and all securities were on alert to prevent unforeseen circumstances from happening. The court staff cautioned everyone to stay put.
Elizabeth Cooper was panting and curious to put the judgement on hold. Hey, my Lord, I have something to say about this case. See! See! This man is in darkness and he is an innocent man for that matter. All of the allegations were false. This memory card will shed more light on the matter and it will serve as evidence.
Officer, collect that memory card and it will serve as exhibit A note it down. Justice instructs the officer to provide a device that will facilitate the review of the video.
After they watched how chief Judas' connive with some boys to put the
contraband inside Mr Benson's luggage when he was using the restroom and he dropped his luggage with his friend Chief Judas and the same man set security for him on his way. Although, they did not know that I was recording their activities.
Justice ordered for immediate arrest of Chief Judas and his co-evil dual to face the law.
When asked about the reasons for his actions, he said both of them had ventured into the same business but he wanted to send Benson to jail so that all the money would be converted to him alone.
Mr Benson was discharged and acquitted, and the court said he should return to his family Immediately.
The End
Thank you for sharing this story with us on The Ink Well. Elizabeth, cleverly, records the crime and delivers it to the court in time to save the day. Justice is served and the culprit goes down for the crime. Often innocent people are not lucky enough to have an “Elizabeth” in their corner.

What is not yours, do not covet. Stay on the part of honesty. This scenario is what we see with friends these days. Even siblings. The rivalry and competition borne from the greed of selfish desires lead men into things that they should/could have avoided!
