The squirrel stocks food
Unlike urban squirrels that live in city parks and gardens, wild squirrels have to survive in the wild.
They are forced to eat whatever food they find. As well as stocking up for the winter.
I noticed this squirrel far outside the city. She climbed high up a tree and carried supplies of food in the form of cones.
In addition to cones, I have seen squirrels sometimes pick up mushrooms that don't look very edible. And so the squirrel rushed back and forth, laboring so that she had food for the winter.
After a while, a couple of months, I decided to visit this place again. And I saw how a squirrel, already shed by winter, was dragging moss into its dwelling, which was tearing from the bottom of the trees. She insulated the walls of her dwelling with moss.

Ну мох я понимаю. Белка делает гнездо. Но несозревшая шишка ей зачем?
А классно ты её высмотрел :)
Same question! why?..
Да, мхом утепляет гайно :) А кто её знает зачем ей шишка🤷♂️ Дятлы же долбят такие шишки зимой, значит там что-то есть
