🎠My Funniest Weekend in London | Tim Burton, Dishoom & Stranger Things
My Funniest Weekend I've Experienced #weekend-engagement
I love this week's Weekend Experience topic, but it was really hard to decide which of all my weekends has been the funniest. I’ve had so many good ones! Looking through old photos, I remembered one — actually from last year in November — when I went to London to visit my friends. As some of you already know, I lived in London for almost nine years, and I often go back since it feels like my second home. I have many friends there, and the city always has something new to offer. This particular weekend was one of the best: I went to one of my favorite exhibitions ever — Tim Burton’s — watched a Stranger Things theatre play, celebrated my birthday, had dinner at one of my favorite Indian restaurants, and partied with my friends. I also visited museums I hadn’t gone to when I lived there, and one of them really surprised me — I loved it. I even stopped by my favorite London spots and enjoyed a delicious roasted chicken a friend made for me. A perfect weekend.

I took so many photos that it’s hard to pick my favorites. Let’s start with two of the London canals I’ve always loved to walk by — and obviously did again that weekend. Every time I visit London, I take a stroll there. I love the scenery, the calm atmosphere, and seeing the narrowboats along the water. It’s such a peaceful place.

Now let’s move on to the Tim Burton exhibition — what a masterpiece! Full of figurines from his movies, endless sketches and doodles he made on napkins, and tons of drawings throughout his career. There were even costumes from his films and corridors designed like movie sets — one looked exactly like Beetlejuice! As a Tim Burton fan, this gift from my friend was one of the best I’ve ever received. It made that weekend unforgettable.

Then came dinner at one of my favorite Indian restaurants in London — Dishoom. We went to the Kensington branch because it was near the exhibition. The restaurant was stunning inside! We ordered way too much food, as always happens when you’re starving. It was a bit pricey, but totally worth it. I’ve been to Dishoom Soho and King’s Cross, but I think this one was the most beautiful.

The next day, we went to another friend’s house, who cooked us an incredible oven-roasted chicken with beer. It was so tasty! We shared some wine, visited her new flat, and met one of her friends we hadn’t seen in ages. We had a lovely afternoon catching up, laughing, and remembering old times in London.

To end the weekend, we went to see the Stranger Things theatre play. It was based on the monster’s story from the last season, showing his life before becoming what he is. The effects were insane! I didn’t expect such an impressive stage production. It was spooky at times but amazing overall — I’d definitely watch it again.
In short, it was one of the best weekends of my life — even better than some I had when I lived in London. I had so much fun and it felt great to relive so many good memories. Thanks for reading and sharing this weekend with me!
I hope you enjoyed my post! 💬

Hey @galenkp! 😅 My bad. I had forgotten about the one-language rule. I’ve fixed the post and now it’s completely in English.
If possible, could you please unmute it? I really enjoyed telling about this special weekend of mine, it is a shame it is muted :(. Thanks so much!
