Walking through the streets of London, it’s not unusual to come across mews. Sometimes we just pass by without noticing them or even realizing they’re there. Mews are narrow cobbled streets, usually pedestrian, with small two-story houses —often with a large garage door on the ground floor and a home above it. They’re usually a bit hidden, and even though many open onto main streets, we often walk past without realizing they’re there. I love those kinds of places that seem to keep a secret between their walls.

Paseando por las calles de Londres no es extraño encontrarnos con mews, a veces simplemente pasamos por delante sin fijarnos y sin saber que están allí… Los mews son callejones o calles más estrechas de lo normal, adoquinadas, peatonales, con edificios pequeños de dos plantas, normalmente con una puerta grande a modo de garaje abajo y una vivienda arriba. Suelen estar un poco escondidos, y aunque muchas veces dan a una calle principal, pasamos sin darnos cuenta de que están ahí. Me encantan esos sitios que parece que se guardan un secreto entre las paredes.

Hidden between quiet streets, this old building looks like a small castle lost in the middle of the city. I found it by accident, and it instantly became one of my favorite corners in London. Courtyards of newly built buildings, decorated with hanging lights, with a beautiful design and lots of greenery that make them even more pleasant.
