The love for the land where I was born is a value that my family, especially my parents, has instilled in me. That is why I joined in the celebration of Cumaná's 510th anniversary, which took place in the historic district. It is worth noting that the place was splendidly decorated, and various artists used the walls as canvases, highlighting local traditions and culture.
I enjoy seeing, year after year, what the event organizers come up with, preparing a celebration framed in the era of yesteryear. Those hairstyles and costumes look incredible, although they are also very hot, which makes it clear that fashion is a matter of generation. The customs and traditions of Cumaná at the beginning of the last century were highlighted in this celebration. Valuing the past helps us to be aware of the processes that led to the present.
I was also able to admire the musical and dancing skills of some groups that live in the city, and I even got to see the show put on by some schools that performed very well on stage. I liked the atmosphere here, because it not only evoked the joy and humor that characterizes us as Sucrense people, but also conveyed the Christmas spirit.
The occasion was ideal for various brands and public establishments to set up their stands so that people could enjoy empanadas, hot dogs, ham sandwiches, traditional sweets, and drinks. Even the inns located near the venue opened their doors to offer different services and sell food.
It was a very complete event: the props, the music, and the food. Despite the considerable number of people, this did not prevent us from enjoying this celebration and marking these 510 years.

El amor por la tierra que me vio nacer es un valor que me ha inculcado mi familia, sobre todo mis padres. De allí que me uniera a la celebración de los 510 años de Cumaná, la cual utilizaría como escenario el Casco Histórico. Vale resaltar que el lugar lucía una espléndida decoración y además diversos artistas utilizaron las paredes como lienzos, resaltando las tradiciones y la cultura local.
Me agrada contemplar, año tras año, lo que presenta la organización del evento, la cual prepara una celebración enmarcada en la época de antaño, aquellos peinados y trajes lucen increíbles, aunque también son muy calurosos, lo que deja claro que la moda es una cuestión de generación. Las costumbres y tradiciones de la Cumaná de inicios del siglo pasado resaltaron en este festejo. Valorar el pasado nos ayuda a tener conciencia de los procesos que se vivieron para llegar al presente.
Pude admirar además las destrezas musicales y dancísticas de algunos grupos que hacen vida en la ciudad, incluso logré ver el show de algunas escuelas que se desempeñaron muy bien en tarima. Me gustó el ambiente que se respiró aquí, pues no solo evocaba la alegría y el humor que nos caracteriza como sucrenses, sino que también se sentía el espíritu navideño.
La ocasión fue propicia para que diversas marcas y establecimientos públicos colocaran sus stands para que la gente pudiera deleitarse con empanadas, perros calientes, panes de jamón, dulcería criolla y bebidas. Incluso, las posadas que se encuentran cercanas al lugar abrieron sus puertas para ofrecer diferentes servicios y también vender comida.
Fue un evento muy completo: la utilería, la música y la comida. A pesar de la considerable cantidad de personas, esto no representó un obstáculo para disfrutar de esta festividad y decir presente en estos 510 años.
