This species is a kind of cricket. Sundanese people call it Gaang, its common name is Earth Dog and its scientific name is Mole Cricket. This species, which is classified as a type of insect, is a nocturnal animal that is active at night, while during the day it hides in the ground through holes that it makes using a pair of legs (a type of foot) as a ground-digging organ that is shaped like a saw.

Gaang, Ground Dog, Mole Cricket have two pairs of legs for running fast and a pair of legs that are located close to the head. These limbs are used to dig the ground. It is brown in color with wings that enable this type of insect to fly. Gaang also has a pair of antennae which makes this species look more beautiful.

Mole Crickets live in dry, moist areas and during the day hide in the ground or in the holes they make. At night it comes out to look for food. Its food is the eggs of other insects and fresh plants. Gaang is a species that is detrimental to vegetable farmers because it eats plants that have just grown and does not hesitate to cut the stems of plants that are only a few weeks old.
