The Malecón holds a great meaning for the people of Havana—and I would contend for all Cubans—especially.
In their free time, many people have always gone to the Malecón to walk, fish, converse, or just savor the cool wind on sweltering days.
I am exposing some pictures I took many years ago. In the first, a mother is chatting animatedly with her daughter while sitting on the Malecón. The following two display fishermen one from land and another from a vessel near the shore. At last, you could watch a whole family enjoying the ocean breeze together

El Malecón tiene un gran significado para los habaneros, y me atrevería a decir que para todos los cubanos, especialmente.
En su tiempo libre, muchos siempre han ido al Malecón a pasear, pescar, conversar o simplemente disfrutar de la brisa fresca en los días de calor sofocante.
Les comparto algunas fotos que tomé hace muchos años. En la primera, una madre charla animadamente con su hija sentadas en el Malecón. Las dos siguientes muestran a pescadores, uno desde la orilla y otro desde una embarcación cerca de la costa. Finalmente, se puede ver a una familia entera disfrutando de la brisa marina.
