Foggy day

It all started one morning when the alarm clock rang earlier than usual. Outside, the world seemed wrapped in cotton wool: the fog covered everything, as if the city didn’t want to wake up yet. That’s when I got the idea for my photo project: “Foggy day”.

I set out with my camera, looking for those landscapes that only exist when the fog transforms everything. In black and white, the fog appears even more mysterious. The trees look like ghosts, people and animals disappear into nothingness, and objects and buildings gradually vanish, as if someone were erasing them with an invisible eraser.

The best thing about photographing at these early hours is the silence. There are hardly any people around, just the sound of my footsteps and the click of the camera. The fog muffles everything: the noises, the shapes, even the thoughts. It’s as if the world has been put on pause, waiting for the sun to decide whether it wants to rise or not.

With every photo, I try to capture this atmosphere: the peaceful solitude, the calmness of not being able to see more than a few meters ahead, the feeling that anything could appear out of the mist at any moment. The contrasts of black and white help to highlight the silhouettes and the details that are often overlooked.

“Foggy day” is not just a landscape project; it’s an excuse to get up early, to wander aimlessly, and to be surprised by what the fog hides and reveals. In the end, each image is a little mystery, an invitation to see the world differently, if only for a moment.

Todo empezó una mañana en la que el despertador sonó más temprano de lo normal. Afuera, el mundo parecía envuelto en algodón: la neblina lo cubría todo, como si la ciudad todavía no quisiera despertar. Fue ahí cuando se me ocurrió la idea para mi proyecto fotográfico: “Foggy day”.

Salí con mi cámara, buscando esos paisajes que solo existen cuando la neblina lo transforma todo. En blanco y negro, la niebla se ve aún más misteriosa. Los árboles parecen fantasmas, las personas y animales se pierden en la nada y los objetos y edificaciones desaparecen poco a poco, como si alguien los estuviera borrando con una goma invisible.

Lo mejor de salir a fotografiar tan temprano es el silencio. Casi no hay gente, solo se escucha el sonido de mis pasos y el clic de la cámara. La neblina lo suaviza todo: los ruidos, las formas, hasta los pensamientos. Es como si el mundo estuviera en pausa, esperando a ver si el sol decide salir o no.

Con cada foto intento captar ese ambiente: la soledad tranquila, la calma de no poder ver más allá de unos metros, la sensación de que en cualquier momento algo puede aparecer entre la bruma. Los contrastes del blanco y negro ayudan a resaltar las siluetas y esos detalles que a veces pasan desapercibidos.

“Foggy day” no es solo un proyecto de paisajes; es una excusa para madrugar, caminar sin rumbo y dejarse sorprender por lo que la neblina esconde y revela. Al final, cada imagen es un pequeño misterio, una invitación a mirar el mundo de otra manera, aunque sea solo por un momento.
