Berlin is clearly a gorgeous metropolis. Combining historical and modern buildings improves its architectural variety. This has motivated me to start several photographic series on this subject; this is one of them.

I believe the best method is to explain every picture such that those who haven't seen the place may better understand it.

  1. In mid Berlin, this historic structure stands at the meeting of two major thoroughfares: Chausseestrasse and Invalidenstrasse. Here is an illustration of old and modern construction side by side.

  2. The Church of Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial. It was ruined during the war and kept in ruins as a tribute.

  3. One more crossroads of key roads in middle Berlin. You can see the Upper West and the Zoofenster Tower—which contains the Waldorf Astoria Berlin, among the most opulent hotels in the city—in the background of an ancient construction.

  4. Two contemporary hotels, both rather opulent, the Swissôtel Berlin and the Dorint Kurfürstendamm Berlin, appear here in the metropolis.

  5. Now an apartment complex, a brick structure formerly housed the Experimental Grain Warehouse in Berlin.

  6. Historic Café Kranzler on the ground level and the famous triangular glass office tower Kranzler Eck.

¡Hola a todos!

Berlín es, sin duda, una metrópolis preciosa. La combinación de edificios históricos y modernos enriquece su diversidad arquitectónica. Esto me ha motivado a iniciar varias series fotográficas sobre este tema; esta es una de ellas.

Creo que la mejor manera de entenderlo es explicar cada fotografía para que quienes no hayan visitado el lugar puedan comprenderlo mejor.

  1. En el centro de Berlín, esta estructura histórica se alza en el cruce de dos importantes avenidas: Chausseestrasse e Invalidenstrasse. Aquí se aprecia la coexistencia de construcciones antiguas y modernas.

  2. La Iglesia Memorial Kaiser Wilhelm. Fue destruida durante la guerra y se conserva en ruinas como homenaje.

  3. Otra intersección clave en el centro de Berlín. Se puede observar el Upper West Side y la Torre Zoofenster —que alberga el Waldorf Astoria Berlin, uno de los hoteles más lujosos de la ciudad— al fondo de una construcción antigua.

  4. Dos hoteles contemporáneos, ambos bastante lujosos: el Swissôtel Berlin y el Dorint Kurfürstendamm Berlin, se encuentran en esta metrópolis.

  5. Este edificio de ladrillo, ahora convertido en complejo de apartamentos, antiguamente albergaba el Almacén Experimental de Granos de Berlín.

  6. En la planta baja se encuentra el histórico Café Kranzler y la famosa torre triangular de oficinas acristalada Kranzler Eck.
