A sunny day in Warnemünde

From the moment I arrived, the beach atmosphere was immediately felt. The first thing that caught my eye were the rows of beach chairs perfectly arranged on the sand, each with its colorful awning, ready for people to sit and enjoy the sea. The Baltic Sea shimmered peacefully, and in the distance, sailboats glided by. The beach was full of families, couples, and groups of friends, all enjoying the good weather and sunshine. It truly felt like a dream vacation.

Desde que llegué, el ambiente playero se siente de inmediato. Lo primero que me llamó la atención fueron las filas de sillas de playa perfectamente acomodadas en la arena, cada una con su toldo de colores, listas para que la gente se siente a disfrutar del mar. El Báltico brillaba tranquilo, y a lo lejos se veían veleros deslizándose. La playa estaba llena de familias, parejas y grupos de amigos, todos disfrutando del buen clima y el sol, de verdad, parecía unas vacaciones de ensueño.

I started my day walking along the seafront. It's always bustling, with cafes and terraces filled with colorful tables where you can sit and have a coffee or a beer and simply watch life go by. I love that relaxed atmosphere, people chatting, some reading, others just gazing at the sea. There's also a small tourist train that runs through the cobblestone streets of the city center, perfect if you want to get to know the area without walking too far, especially if you're with children or just want to rest your feet.

Empecé mi día caminando por el malecón. Siempre hay mucho movimiento, con cafés y terrazas llenas de mesas de colores, donde puedes sentarte a tomar un café o una cerveza y simplemente ver la vida pasar. Me encanta ese ambiente relajado, la gente platicando, algunos leyendo, otros solo mirando el mar. También hay un pequeño tren turístico que recorre las calles empedradas del centro, perfecto si quieres conocer el lugar sin caminar tanto, sobre todo si vas con niños o simplemente quieres descansar los pies.

One of Warnemünde's most iconic landmarks is the old lighthouse. Of course, I had to visit it. I climbed to the top, and the view is incredible: you can see the entire harbor, the wide beach, and the seemingly endless sea. Nearby is the famous green lighthouse on the pier. I walked over and stayed there for a while, enjoying the sea breeze, watching the ships and the huge hybrid ferries going to Denmark go by. It's impressive to see these large, modern ships up close and think about all the destinations they reach.

Afterwards, I headed to the town center, where the colorful houses and small shops give it a special touch. There are souvenir shops, postcard stands, ice cream parlors, and even small art galleries. I stopped at a kiosk to look at postcards and couldn't resist buying some souvenirs for the family. The center has its own rhythm: street musicians, people riding bikes, and terraces where you can eat delicious food or simply enjoy a cold drink.

Después me fui al centro del pueblo, donde las casas de colores y las tienditas le dan un toque especial. Hay tiendas de recuerdos, puestos de postales, heladerías y hasta pequeñas galerías de arte. Me detuve en un kiosco a ver postales y no pude resistirme a comprar algunos souvenirs para la familia. El centro tiene su propio ritmo: músicos callejeros, gente paseando en bici y terrazas donde puedes comer rico o simplemente disfrutar una bebida fría.

At lunchtime, I sat on one of those colorful terraces I love so much. I ordered a local beer and a plate of fresh fish, a regional specialty. The atmosphere was super pleasant, with the sound of the sea in the background and the people coming and going. Something that really caught my attention was how friendly the staff was everywhere, always smiling and ready to recommend the best items on the menu.

A la hora de la comida, me senté en una de esas terrazas de colores que tanto me gustan. Pedí una cerveza local y un plato de pescado fresco, que es una especialidad de la región. El ambiente era súper agradable, con el sonido del mar de fondo y el ir y venir de la gente. Algo que me llamó mucho la atención fue lo amable que es el personal en todos lados, siempre sonrientes y listos para recomendarte lo mejor del menú.

Something that fascinated me about Warnemünde is the number of birds you see everywhere. Seagulls are the bosses here, always near the water, perched on the walls or even walking among the people, looking for something to eat. If you're lucky, you might even see pelicans fishing. The sound of the birds mixed with the waves makes the atmosphere even more special and connects you with nature in a beautiful way.

Algo que me fascinó de Warnemünde es la cantidad de aves que ves por todos lados. Las gaviotas son las jefas aquí, siempre cerca del agua, paradas en los muros o incluso caminando entre la gente, buscando algo para comer. Si tienes suerte, puedes ver pelicanos pescando. El sonido de las aves mezclado con el de las olas hace que el ambiente sea aún más especial y te conecta con la naturaleza de una forma muy bonita.

At dusk, I returned to the beach to close out the day. The sky turned orange and pink, and just at that moment, a seagull landed on the wall in front of me, as if it too wanted to watch the spectacle. It was one of those unforgettable moments, I felt an immense peace and a special connection with the place. The sea reflected the colors of the sky, and a few sailboats continued sailing in the distance, completing the perfect postcard.

Al atardecer, regresé a la playa para cerrar el día. El cielo se pintó de naranja y rosa, y justo en ese momento una gaviota se paró frente a mí sobre el muro, como si también quisiera ver el espectáculo. Fue uno de esos momentos que no se olvidan, sentí una paz enorme y una conexión especial con el lugar. El mar reflejaba los colores del cielo y algunos veleros seguían navegando a lo lejos, completando la postal perfecta.

Before leaving, I stopped by the area where the Ferris wheel is located. At night, it's lit up and gives the town a festive atmosphere. From up there, you can see all of Warnemünde, the beach, the port, and the sea as far as the eye can see. I highly recommend this experience, especially if you like taking photos or just want to enjoy a different perspective.

Antes de irme, pasé por la zona donde está la noria. De noche se ilumina y le da un aire de fiesta al pueblo.
