Responding to the Big Blue
The vast emptiness of an open sea always fascinates me. Unfortunately, I’ve been there only a few times and only for a limited time with a limited plan.
But this time, we had a plan— to get the most out of the big waves; to feast on the beauty of the big blue’s vastness.
So, the excitement doubled and enjoyment tripled.
It was a cold winter morning we set our journey towards the sea— a 300 km long journey on a motorbike. And yes— I am a big fan of two-wheelers. Chilly wind, foggy weather, and a road with almost no traffic were inviting enough to unfold the sweetest chapter of life at that moment.
Heavily armed with safety gear for fighting the ice-cold winter wind, we began our journey at the first light of dawn— even the morning birds were asleep, and stray dogs were hiding under whatever they could manage to stay warm. Only a few god-fearing people were rushing back home after the morning prayer.
(Un)Fortunately, both of us, I and my friend are camera-shy about taking selfies. Otherwise, you could see us packed like an Eskimo; we could barely move freely after wearing all those warm clothes.

Anyway, the journey was more hectic than we anticipated. We had to take breaks several times during these 290+km straight journeys and change drivers periodically.
Driving through roads never travelled is quite enthralling, I must say. Different terrain, different people, different landscape— we should sometimes embark on such trips to the unknown to admire the natural beauty we are surrounded with. Blessed with lush greenery almost everywhere, our highways are things to behold except for the debris and loads of unfit vehicles. And after 9 hours of driving and resting, we reached our spot— Kuakata Sea Beach.

Google Maps Direction

As expected, it was overly crowded. But like I said earlier, we had a plan. We selected the accommodation and the trip dates keeping the weekends in mind— to avoid people at any cost. And it worked. Well, slightly. Before it was dark, people started to leave for their homes as the following days are weekdays. So, we got accommodation at cheap rates, food at discounted prices and the whole beach less crowded.

Although, I am not good at taking pictures, I tried. After all, need some memories framed for reminiscing about them in old days. And here they are—

We stayed there 3 days and 2 nights; honestly, we enjoyed every bit of it.
