Wednesday walk in the park .:. 16 lonesome october etudes

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.
I had a short but really entertaining walk today, especially in the photography-hunting terms. I played with the camera again on the way to the office. We had a pretty cloudy and rainy weather recently (I simply cant say when I saw the sun in the sky!) but for the last two days the weather made an exception, and when I stepped out of the doors, I understood today camera will not stay just an excessive weight.

I borrowed the wide lens with me, all of the pictures you see were taken with 16-35mm 'L' canon lens (1st revision) -- even if the ones that look like macro. No dedicated macro lens was used today!

The rising sun, low on the horizon, cast long shadows towards me in the local park - a delightful and meditative picture.

I took my favorite sort of photos, which - I knew this in advance - are very pleasant to edit, knowing what an indefinite, vague image is, you can "walk away", take it in any direction you want, make alternative versions, and all processing options will be interesting.

What is so special about those dead leaves? You will answer 'nothing' -- and probably would be correct... tho they all (even being dead and wilted) looked damn good under this warm morning light, much better, that you see it in my photos.

But lets go further. Our park has a few elongated ponds. And since the weather become colder day by day, those two things mixing together make things change -- including the leaves. Especially the leaves.

As I approached the pond, the leaves lying under my feet changed their appearance in the most magical way. See for yourself!

This was a moment when I apparently regretted that I took a wide-angle with me, but not a macro lens!

2022-oct-4053w-h.jpg

And here I regretted it again... and had to comfort myself with a vow that tomorrow I would get up early and before going to office come back here with a macro lens, and spend at least an hour on my knees. This vow worked, my mind calmed down...

Those frozen maple leaves... isnt it one of the best, touchy, magic shots I've done so far this year? does it worth including in Top-50? I am not convinces yet, ofc dust have to settle down a bit... there is not much of my own work here, indeed: most part was done by Mother Nature... what do you think? Am I just over-excited with this?..

2022-oct-4058w-h.jpg

The world around me is no longer the same as you see it in this pic! it's just a temporary deviation caused by the sun... most of the leaves have already fallen to the ground, the trees are naked, the sky is gray and pours water on me every day. This was just an exception, a brief change of a gloomy scenario.

2022-oct-4065w-h.jpg

I took more captures of reflections and ducks (having in mind to post them in the proper communities )... and then approached to these two tiny "peninsulas" guarded by the lions.

2022-oct-4066w-h.jpg

And suddenly I found myself in the middle of a magical silver fairy tale.

2022-oct-4080w-h.jpg

Of course, a huge water pond with (still warm) water was needed to create this masterpiece. Other lawns, that unhappily were located far from it, stayed with no silver lining.

2022-oct-4084w-h.jpg

This is why I sound over-excited. Everything was covered with living fragile silver ephemera.

2022-oct-4086w-h.jpg

And I started pushing the camera shutter like mad, pointing it at everything...

If only I had a macro lens with me, the photos would have turned out differently. And I would be an hour or two hours late to my office, lol

2022-oct-4073w-h.jpg

So, do I regret? No way!!!! I guess the pictures speak for me. I am in love with what I got, I nailed it. The perfect scenes of nature's bright autumn dying.

Nettle! The most common nettle,-- but cheerful, illuminated by the last autumn sun.

Some walks you remember only when you stumble upon the matching labelled photo-folder in your archive, but others you do remember without that! This amazingly brief (only 20 minutes long!) 'on the fly' unplanned photo walk already became one of the most memorable walks of the year for me.

See you next time!
