Picture a Day — Melted rocks of Ladoga lake

(Edited)

Memories from decade ago, from one of our family travels to the Ladoga lake in Karelia, Russia. (It is considered as the largest lake in the Europe, almost like a little sea!) Agreat place of energy to be, a great place to challenge your tourist skills and so many more. I became in love with those 'melted' rocks from the very first time I saw them back in 2006. Oh, and could not but mention that the capture is made using my 1st digital camera, Canon EOS 350D - a few years later, in 2018, I already managed to get a full-frame 5D. (Currently I upgraded it to 5Dm3).

NB: the photo below is slightly enhanced using Topaz Photo Ai - 50mm lens is not ideal for capturing landscapes, heh. I selected the photo for #Photofeed landscape challenge of this week; the images shared last week were so amazing that I could not resist to contribute something from my travels (tho I dont have too much to choose from...)

location: Karelia, Russia July 2016 natural light
camera/lens: Canon EOS 350D Sigma 50mm raw-conv

Hi! )
Haven't seen you in a while.
Beautiful shot!
Tell me how Topaz Photo AI works—is it just a simple automatic enhancement or does it do something cool?

it is very very cool - fully automatic capable +haaas solid options for manual adjustment and manual control. BUT, it have nothing to do with good pics -- 'target market'for this soft is bad blurry aged low-res photos. Here Topaz produce some real magik. One of my most happy finds for the last two years - and the one I can use on a daily basis. But thats cause I deal with low-res pictures I get from other side; my own photos I process in PS. ;)

...i.e., a typical user case: if you lost your original photo and left only with , say, 900px preview -- Topaz may help you to restore it in the most easy and intelligent way. (But, of course, it has some limitations as well).

Thanks for your visit, have a Hive !PIZZA my friend.

Search for a suitable link...

That is gorgeous, what a pretty shot. Those "melted" rocks really are cool, I can see why you fell in love with the spot. Great shot!
