Myakka State Park Near The Florida Gulf Coast
At the end of last year, I went on a trip to Florida's Gulf Coast, and got to see many beautiful sites that we don't get in Ohio, where I am from. Like alligators, we don't have any of those on the North Coast!
The following photos are from Myakka State Park, near Sarasota, Florida, which spands thousands of acres.
There was no shortage of visual delights. In fact, I saw way more alligators here than when I rode a fanboat in the everglades!
There were beautiful sights from a treetop canopy walk.

I can't help but wonder about people trying to cross through this land in the past, before it's was developed...
... It was a land filled with real-life monsters!

Thanks for reading!...As you can see, this was an absolutely beautiful experience and I would highly recommend visiting if you are ever in the area!...Altgough, I'm sure there is no shortage of similar parks throughout the large state of Florida!

Looks like a great trip. Getting me even more excited to move down that way next month and start exploring! We're looking on the other side of the state and farther north, but only about 3 hours or so away. Adding to my visit list.
Oh. Lucky you! I've been to Gainesville, Orlando Miami, ft Myers and Sarasota areas and they all seemed to have beautiful things to see!....now, I don't know about the summers though! 🔥
Yes, we know the summers are going to be very hot for us and the dog to get used to! But I think will last much shorter than the snow and ice season up here which we are tired of. Looking forward to lots of sunshine days again like we had in Colorado!
