Mit der unten stehenden Collage, nehme ich am LMAC-Contest #203 teil. Allerdings, selbstverständlich, nur zum Spaß, da ich ja in der LMAC mitmache Jury.

About my collage

Somehow the place in Shaka's template photo for this round seemed a little extraterrestrial to me.

These round stone buildings on this red sand made me think of chimneys. Chimneys of the kind that might be built to terraform Mars.
Most likely, I only got this impression because not long before I saw the photo for the first time, I had read an article about terraforming our little neighboring planet.
The article described such chimneys, and that the best way to build them would be from materials that can be found on Mars. In other words, stones and sand. The scientists proposed to create a greenhouse effect on Mars in order to increase air pressure and atmospheric temperature.
I was still pretty fascinated by this concept. So I loved the idea to depict a fictitious terraforming of Mars in my collage for this round.

Über meine Collage

Irgendwie empfand ich, dass der Ort in Shaka's Vorlagen-Foto für diese Runde, ein wenig extraterrestrisch aussieht.

Vorlagen-Foto für Runde #203

Diese runden, steinernen Gebäude, auf diesem roten Sand, erinnerten mich Schornsteine. Schornsteine, wie man sie eventuell zum terraformieren des Mars bauen würde.
Recht wahrscheinlich, bekam ich diesen Eindruck nur deshalb, weil ich kurz bevor ich das Foto das erste Mal sah, einen Artikel über Terraformierung unseres kleinen Nachbarplaneten las.
Darin wurden solche Schornsteine beschrieben, und dass man sie wohl am Besten aus Material bauen würde, dass man auf dem Mars finden kann. Also aus Steinen und Sand. Man würde einen Treibhauseffekt auf dem Mars erzeugen wollen, um Luftdruck und die atmosphärische Temperatur zu steigern.
Ich war noch ziemlich fasziniert, von diesem Konzept. Daher gefiel mir die Idee, eine fiktive Terraformierung des Mars in meiner Collage für diese Runde darzustellen.

These are the materials I have made use of to create my collage. Additionally to Photo Bashing, I also painted some details myself (shadows, lights, ...).
For the work on the collage I only used the open source image editor GIMP.

Materialien

Dies sind die Materialien die ich zum Erstellen meiner Collage verwendet habe. Zusätzlich zum Photobashing, habe ich auch Details selbst gemalt (Schatten, Lichter, ...).
Ich habe für die komplette Arbeit an der Collage, das open source Bildbearbeitungsprogramm GIMP verwendet.

What is LMAC?

LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC will probably prove you wrong.

Current round: LMAC #203.

Are you a good photographer and would like to contribute some nice good quality photos in exchange for good votes and tribute?
We are currently building our own photo/image library that we can use as a image source for our collages, but also every Hiver beyond LMAC is very welcome to use the images in it.
