Out of service - Collage for/für LMAC 196 [EN | DE]

Even if the title of this post sounds like technical bad news, it's just about art.
It's the title of my collage for the LMAC Contest in round 196
The current round of the legendary art contest runs until midnight tomorrow. Have a look, get inspired and have the chance to win great prizes in the final.
Even if you think you're not an artist, with LMAC you can prove yourself wrong.
All you need is an image editing software (such as GIMP, free) and image sources accepted according to the LMAC rules.

Auch wenn der Titel dieses Posts nach einer technischen Hiobsbotschaft klingt, handelt es sich doch nur um Kunst.
Es ist der Titel meiner Collage für den LMAC Contest in Runde 196.
Die aktuelle Runde des legendären Kunst-Wettbewerbes läuft noch bis morgen um Mitternacht. Schau doch mal rein, lass dich inspirieren und habe die Chance im Finale tolle Preise zu gewinnen.
Auch wenn du nun denken solltest, du seist kein Künstler - Mit LMAC hast du die Chance, dir selbst das Gegenteil zu beweisen.
Alles was du dazu brauchst, ist ein Bildbearbeitungsprogramm (wie z.B. GIMP, kostenlos) und Bilder-Quellen, die nach den LMAC Regeln erlaubt sind.
About my collage
Not long ago, in December 2023, I was hit by a really nasty winter flu.
I usually get rid of the flu after a few days, but this one wanted to stay over the holy days and New Year. And it robbed me of every ounce of my strength. In fact, I couldn't even sit at the computer and one day I even collapsed due to overconfidence.
Well, since I couldn't do much, I watched a lot of TV, slept a lot and otherwise occupied myself with other passive activities. For example, I looked through my collection of vacation photos.
Among them were many photos of the so-called "Ravena Gorge" in the beautiful German Black Forest. A hike that I really enjoyed and so I soaked up these photos again.
When I opened the announcement post for round 196 and saw the template for this round, it immediately reminded me of the photo show session I had done when I was so ill. Because this house there in it lies almost directly at the foot of the Ravena Gorge.
I gladly took this as inspiration and was looking forward to the opportunity to artistically reflect on this bad time.
Über meine Collage
Vor kurzem, im Dezember 2023, erwischte mich eine wirklich fiese Wintergrippe.
Normalerweise bin ich eine Grippe immer nach wenigen Tagen los, doch diese wollte über Weihnachten und Neujahr bleiben. Und sie raubte mir jedes Bisschen Kraft. Ich konnte noch nicht einmal am Computer sitzen und kollabierte an einem der Tage sogar, wegen Selbstüberschätzung.
Nunja, da ich nicht viel tun konnte, schaute ich viel fern, schlief viel und beschäftige mich ansonsten mit anderweitigen, passiven Tätigkeiten. Zum Beispiel, schaute ich meine Urlaubsbildersammlung durch.
Darunter waren auch viele Fotos der sogenannten "Ravena Schlucht" im schönen deutschen Schwarzwald. Eine Wanderung die ich sehr genoss und mir die Bilder davon, erneut intensiv in mich aufsaugte.
Als ich den Ankündigungs-Post zu Runde 196 öffnete und die Vorlage zu dieser Runde sah, erinnerte es mich sofort an die Bilderschau, die ich tat, als ich so krank war. Denn das Haus darin, liegt fast direkt am Fuße der Ravena-Schlucht.
Das nahm ich gern als Inspiration an und freute mich auf die Gelegenheit, diese Miese Zeit, künstlerisch aufzuarbeiten.

These are the materials I have made use of to create my collage. Additionally to Photo Bashing, I also painted some details myself (shadows, lights, ...).
For the work on the collage I only used the open source image editor GIMP.

LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC will probably prove you wrong.

We are currently building our own photo/image library that we can use as a image source for our collages, but also every Hiver beyond LMAC is very welcome to use the images in it.

I like this very much! It's funny, and at the same time it's a bit off the wall. It tells the story of being very, very sick. Have we all not been there? Have we all not felt so miserable, with sore heads and so weary we're too tired to get up? I remember just lying on the bathroom floor because it was too much effort to walk.
This is wonderful at capturing exactly what that feels like to be so very ill, and yet the collage manages to make us smile.
Let's hope you never, ever go through such a dreadful flu again.

Da das Haus in früheren Jahren auch einmal als Badehaus diente, ist es wahrlich nicht der schlechteste Platz, an dem man sich nach einer Grippe wieder einigermaßen erholen kann. 😵🤒
